Berwick Bandits 2013

Recommended Posts

The new Heat 10 rule you mention doesn't seem to be public knowledge, has been vaguely mentioned here and there but nothing seems to be written in stone.

There is also the question about an interval being mandatory, which might be fine at a track which owns all the catering, etc, on a warm summer evening -- but surely it won't be enforced on a night like last Saturday with a wind-chill factor of -5C?

Or is 'mandatory' what is says on the tin? Again, we haven't seen anything written down.

It was in the speedway star about heat 10 i think it was in the Newcastle piece

Why should an interval be mandatory, surely its better leaving that to the discretion of the on night referee.Theres plenty natural breaks for track grading etc,why we would need another break in racing is beyond me.

Absolutely right! However, this is something we've had quoted from several sources, and it appears to be going to be the case.

I readily agree about breaks for grading, etc -- and the long pause between Heats 14 & 15, and the natural break after that when a winning team parades before the junior league (or whatever) racing.

But I do understand it has been decreed from on high that there has to be a mandatory interval after Heat 10, and my questions are: is this going to be forced upon us -- and why?

I think discretion on the night would prevail in this situation, trivial really.

There is NO MANDATORY interval ! The workshop situation i believe was all sorted last November and has in the last coulpl of weeks become unavailable now, David and Nicki will once again be staying in the same house in Tweedmouth, they just need a small garage to wash an prepare their bikes, i asked and was told all this by Ian Rae last saturday night in the Black And Gold

Bellego & Barrett based themselves in a house in Tweedmouth last year,it may well be that house has now been rented out to someone else.I hope they find their accomodation and workshops in Berwick as its nice to see our overseas riders committing to Berwick by actually living over here instead of flying in and out all the time.

I wonder if the previous few posts were alcohol fueled.

There we go, thank you for adding a bit of sense to the request for assistance to the two riders.

I'm agreeing with you here, blue snow tonight.

Even more useful.

Shows emilali up for what he is.

See young Liam Carr scored 4 points last night in the under 21 meeting long way for him to go but shows he is keen.Hopefully he will get a NL team place in the not to distant future.Anybody got any ideas who our guest will be against Edinburgh ?

I think you'll find there is........

Wrong i believe

from the rule book 15.1.1 No Interval shall be taken before the conclusion of Heat 10 (15-heat League Meeting) or

Heat 12 (20+ Heat Individual Meeting), except where the Referee deems it necessary

A referee always can decide not to have an interval especially in a bad weather situation.

Less than 48 hours before the Bandits are out on the track!

I wonder if a couple of the promotion's sternest critics on here (we know who they are) will be coming to the after-practice Q+A session, and putting their questions to the club officials face-to-face?

They might get more respect if they did.

Giving the forecast between now and saturday evening there`ll be plenty time for plenty questions. The track was white with snow this morning though that snow has gone now, along with the rest of Berwick, theres more snow showers forecast so whether there`ll be any practice might be a doubt.

Some of us have more important things to do with our time.
