Teal
I'm just stating that there seems to be no out and out heat leaders - apart from Ashworth. I'm not convinced, not wanting to start any battles here, im just saying. you dont seem to grasp what makes a good rider IMO. Tell me what you think makes a good rider? Personally I believe the main aspect is someone you can rely on to win a race where needed - I wouldn't put money on Aspregren in any race, but that's just me

Out and Out Heatleaders does not win much these days its strength in Depth IMO which this seasons Berwick line-up appears to have again only my opinion. I would agree with that, however, I think Ashworth, Bellegeo, and Kozza are all pretty entertaining, the latter two not always by winning races. The other four are very solid in their team positions, Aspergren is particularly dependable. I like the balance of the team, I also like the personalities in the team. It's good for me: I'm chuffed!
DSC67
Anyone else find this team solid, but a little bit boring?? Its true what they say about pleasing some of the people all the time and all the people some of time , seems to me that no matter what team the promotion put together someone on here would have to come on and moan about it . Personally I'm very happy with the line up looks pretty solid with riders who have the potential to improve their average , so lets get behind the team and give them a chance :t:
BigRackBandit
Anything said about the Ben Fund meeting at th event last night? - Line Up wise? The patter coming out of the Berwick Rangers Supporters trust AGM is that Berwick Rangers are investigating in the possibility of a new stadium on the land close to Tesco. Interesting. Teal
I agree, and will support the team 100% but just saying I was a little bit disappointed that's all - I can't really explain why, think it was just a very predictable team and I was looking for new look, riders unknown but brilliant type scenario ah well, could be a lot worse Its true what they say about pleasing some of the people all the time and all the people some of time , seems to me that no matter what team the promotion put together someone on here would have to come on and moan about it . Your quite entitled to your opinion as much as the next person but i have to ask a genuine question. After 3 weeks and 3 home humpings with a team full of new faced soon to be tiddlywink playing mercenaries how much do you feel your opinion would change? Berwick have had a few of those over the years so i imagine lots of berwick fans will be glad to see old Berwick Badge kissing riders like Ashworth back to bring some continuity so as not to disrupt bonding too much.

I don't mind getting beat just as long as the racing is good, you could say I'm not a die hard fan who wants 5-1 after 5-1. Berwick have had some excellent new faces in the past - makovsky, rymel, franc, villa, rampala all spring to mind.

I am sure that if you can source 7 unkown riders that are brilliant and finish the season on 9pt averages and ride for PL pay rates, the Promotion will sign them and probably invite you on to the Board of Directors

bigeddiechek
I can see you point of view Teal. I think this is one season where we are seeing a team full of familiar faces, and yes not the excitement of the unknown rider who could be the next best thing. This is a very carefully put together team, though, and I am sure they will provide plenty of excitement. Kozza and Bellego in particular!
screm
Happy with the team, hopefully lady luck will shine on us during the winter and this will be the team come next March. Glad we didnt go with Albin, nothing against the kid but I dont think it was the time to take a gamble, much better to sign a team where you know what you will get and I think we have that. Anyone else find this team solid, but a little bit boring?? No

wjm
What did Aspegren average for Berwick? 6.40 is taking on his Newport form I take it? Aren't many 6.40 men turning in performances like he was.
Pinny
Aspegren is a cracking signing on 6.40. Berwick look good...I would question the reserves though. Many have called them essential signings, I am not sure. They both have averages they have acheived over plenty of meetings, so being classed as bargain averaged riders isnt quite true. Still, should be well off the bottom injuries permitting.
