Backless
Having always thought that £12 was being overly ambitious, that makes sense, and the presentation changes are all positive which should enhance the Saturday night out. I can't think of another promotion that has done as much in the last few years to improve every single aspect of "going to the speedway".
wjm
All good i would say no doubt there will be grumbles about price increase from original but makes season ticket a better deal. Maybe Dick is being moved towards the door ever so gently mind I would hope not, while not overly popular on here, he still has something to offer IMO. His programme articles, more often than not offer thought provoking articles and I always enjoy the rapport he has with the riders, Dick in a roving reporter role in the pits chipping in when track work was going on would work well IMO. Dick tends to ask riders questions that are a bit out the box rather than the usual sort of brain dead stuff you get on Sky. I don’t think there is much an issue having people with the enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport Dick has involved somewhere… Edited February 15, 2013 by wjm

Its a question of taste and choice but I think Berwick might do well to be without him on the centre green, some of his parade presentations and comments on opposition riders were really quite emmbarrassing at times.

bigeddiechek
£13 admission makes the season ticket an even better deal. I also think that no-one on here can seriously criticise Dick for his comments. The evidence is everywhere, I include myself. Cue Screm's defence even though it is not necessarily aimed at him.
screm
Well if anyone knows about making embarrassing comments it would be you. Agreed,I take it you dont re-read some of your own then. And anyway Im quite happy to have my comments anallysed, and poured over by you,I dont have to ride on the back of Berwick Speedway to put my comments up.

luluthetiger
As always, Berwick seem prepared to move on, fine-tune an already good product rather than standing still. Adding the local guy makes sense if he's a DJ, it will let the Bandits explore different things in presentation. This now adds up, when I remember a conversation involving Dick Barrie after Jason Lyons Testimonial last year. He said he was hoping to step back from regular announcing "before the men in white coats arrive to take me away". If he is going to offload some of the work at the meetings, while continuing to give Berwick the benefit of his vast experience, it seems that's a win-win situation.

freddyfivetoes
Can you see Edinburgh agreeing to that! Yes, they are a professional promotion, and Tully may well attract a few extra spectators. Which is what it is all about.
