Berwick Bandits 2013

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty down about my club and the season we've had. So, what better way to boost my morale than to think about our potential title conquest (emphasis) on potential.

Who would you like in the team? PL? or maybe a move up to the EL? should prices stay at a tenner or drop to a 5'r next season. All questions we will all find out in time, no doubt at Berwick's HQ plans are afoot for our End of Season Jolly.

We must not forget that day at PBoro the day Seb Alden beat the creme de la creme of the PL (aka Magnus Karlsson), what a great heat. Berwick did have one of the best top 4's in the league at the start of the season and proved it on that wonderful day. However from a team perspective this year well even with our pre-selection of riders (Sitera couldn't be helped). King/Tomicek? I want to grate my face. Not forgetting that German bloke, the next Kevin Wolbert? wonder which one or hierarchy made that call probs the one who said we should give Redcar our utmost respect after winning at Edinburgh, or more likely was that our official website at its imperious best.

Anyway enough of the negative stuff

We have had some positive happenings

1) Ricky Ashworth as his Number says No1 went about his buisness very quietly and professionally - aye injuries really affected us erm Kozza Smith would have averaged 9 points? I don't think so

2) David Bellego Saw him at Glasgow he looked a talent and plaudits to our Scouting system he was a find. Some cynics would say (he should have been at reserve) which yes is possibly true however David has developed this year into a solid second string and is now scoring some good points on the road.

3) Lee Complin He did a good job on track for us this year, picked up away from home, not in Heat 13 as was the case in the previous campaign but as a result Alden struggled regularly going missing in 13. However there were rumours throughout the season of handbags in the pits however I stress oly rumours

4) Micky + Robin - Fair play lads some good scores would like to see you both back if not you have put yourselves in the shop window in the meantime.

The rest - If we want to turn the league around next year I would look elsewhere. Seb Alden? I hear you all cry. Should be a 8.5 rider for us but beating Bogdanovs, Lindback and Jonsson is outstanding but then coming to Berwick and getting beat by Cameron Heeps, doesn't really add up to me. He's either doing a Charlie, or has issues with the track, maybe our injuries this season have affected him as much as it has brainwashed our fans into thinking that they ruined our season.

-----------

Do we have any plans to make alterations to track preperation for 2013 of course that was why Ipswich put us out of the Cup? That said we have had one cracking race with Ricky and Josh, that was as gooder Speedway as in foriegn countries. Yes Speedway does exsist in other countries. I have no experience of preparing a track but I would like to see more shale on the inside of the track and we also seem to have lost the highline on the 3rd and 4th bend? No wonder Klaus can't do those overtakes when needed.

Will we be commiting ourselves to the FIM event? maybe we'll get the PLRC? I must commend the club for reducing the prices, but what happens if we are near the bottom of the table again next year. We must hope the racing continues to be of a high standard otherwise do we charge 8 quid, when things go Pete Tounge?

-----------

I'd like to see Ricky, Micky, Robin and David signed up in the same fashion we signed our famous 4 last year. If Kozza could be fit then I would like to see him re-gain his place. Nicki I don't think will get an average so again fair play to the club. We could have had Stan, who then we couldn't have used in 2013 so I'd like to see Nicki he looks the part and he's Danish and we love Danes.

I hear rumours that were signing Barnfeild, Albin, Edberg all in the same team. It wont be long until Pepe Franc's name is touted, I mean hey why not chuck in Mudgway as well.

So hmmmm I'd go with

1. Ricky Ashworth

2. David Bellego

3. Kozza Smith/Lee Complin

4. Ricky Wells?

5. Robin Aspergren

6. Mickey Dyer

7. Simon Nielson

I feel better, now what would your team be?

LOL brilliant, enjoyed reading that. If they have the future of the club in mind, i'd like to see a 1-7 consisiting of,

1.Josef Franc

2. Justin Sedgeman

3. Stan Burza

4. Frank Facher

5. Alex Edberg

6. Mitchell Davey

7. Klaus Jacobsen

Some real track specialists and fans favourites in there, all sure to up there averages and take the club forward to the next level, and even if they dont, they can have a good party or two.

Thanks

assuming the team building stays at 25 points....you maybe able to drop one of them and drag Clewsy out of the hall of fame!!

Haha I thought about getting Craig Branney in there but that potential that Mitchell has just swung it for me.

Also was thinking about a 1-7 of some of the present promotions best signings.

1. Charlie Gjedde

2. Gino Franchetti

3. Willie Lawson

4. Gregorz Strozyk

5.Frank Facher

6. Tammy Sike

7. Michael Hertrich

Plaudits to your scouting system for Bellego? Give me peace! Hardly a find? Glasgow found him last year with the help of Theo! We couldn't/wouldn't fit him on so he was available!

Wouldn't . Its pathetic though that his registration has still to be decided. Would take him back at Glasgow in a flash assuming we are running next year, and Barrett as well after an impressive showing last week.

Hardly poaching is it?

Its ideal for him with more airports within range, he flys around the OTA and likes it down there, would of joined them earlier in season I think but for one reason or another it didnt happen.

A loan rider is first available to his asset club, Swindon I believe. The conditions of the loan agreement mean that he must be offered to that team first next year, before he can be made available to anyone else.

Recent form by a certain team suggests they will have already talked to him. Poaching, let's call it shopping early.

I would imaging he's owned by the BSPA as he was a Newport asset, so I guess whoever stumps up the cash for him this winter will own him (and the other Newport assets, Mellgren, Kurtz and Jones)

In my own 'poaching' a month ago I was told he belonged to Swindon.

I guess it's not impossible, but Newport brought him over before he rode for Swindon (I actually think he did a meeting or two for Eastbourne the year before that too). I can only assume Swindon bought him from Newport when it was clean Newport were in a mess.

Both Newcastle & Edinburgh airports are within an hour of Berwick

where as at Somerset he has Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter all within an hour (ok cardiff maybe 1.25 hours) and main airports like Heathrow, gatwick, stansted a lot closer than Berwick.

I know from speaking to Robin a few times that he loves Somerset so if they are willing to have him, which on his average id imagine they will, i can see him heading there.

If you really think clubs and riders dont talk during the season then you must have lost your marbles Tsunami... Id bet 20+ riders are already near signed up at new clubs for next year already!!
