Mimmo
To the best of my knowledge, the remaining King's Lynn 'Young Stars' fixtures looks like this............if it doesn't rain.....maybe!! Wednesday 19th September at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Isle of Wight (NL) Wednesday 3rd October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Stoke (NL) Sunday 7th October at 3.00pm: Buxton v King's Lynn (NL) Wednesday 10th October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Rye House (NL) + King's Lynn v Rye House (AJL) Wednesday 17th October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Buxton (NL). So whilst the senior team will have been put to bed for another year, there is still plenty of excitement and entertainment to come at the Norfolk Arena before we revert to watching DVD's in front of the fire during those cold and dark evenings. For the purist the Norfolk Arena will also be hosting Southern Track Riders meetings on Sunday 7th October (Midday) and Saturday 20th October (5.00pm), whilst the Dragons Speedway Club will be running meetings on Sunday 28th October (11.00am) and Saturday 10th November (4.00pm). Although raced on a purely amateur basis, these meetings are completely FREE OF CHARGE to enter, with a programme (not just a racesheet) on offer for just £1. On most occasions, you'll find riders from the National League competing, such as the likes of Lewis Kerr, Tom Stokes and so on, and with around 40-plus races each meeting, how can you afford to not attend some of them. Mike, you do try really hard to get the Norfolk fans motivated for NL, and Amateur racing which in the Open classes is often like NL racing and I hope that you get some success. Have the Stars finished their fixtures altogether because if they have, some of those supporters will be craving to watch NL racing by the beginning of October!!! There are enough winter Wednesdays in front of the television without starting in September. I don't know if you will get up to Buxton on the 3rd October but if you do, then watch out for those tarts in Bakewell. They can often lead one astray. Martin Hello Martin, Nice to hear from you mate. The 'Stars' run their final meeting this coming Monday against Coventry. Wednesday 26th September will be the Ashley Jones Memorial meeting, which I'm led to understand will primarily be a Premier League line-up, which should be well worth supporting. As for me going to Buxton on the 3rd October, we'll I'd have little else to do but be strayed by tarts, as the Young Stars are at home to Stoke that evening. Haha, Malcolm Vasey or 'Bakewell Tarts' is a bit of a no brainer isn't it, Derbyshire would have to win the day on that one, unless the so called tarts also have grey ponytails. We are at Buxton on the 7th October, and sadly for the first time ever, as far as I can remember, I've got to miss a Boston/King's Lynn meeting at one of my favourite venues. I did make the journey for the original staging date, which as you know was rained-off, even though a couple of miles down the road in Buxton Park, me and the guvnor had a picnic, and a ride on a silly little train (The Butterscotch Ice Cream from the pavillion was lovely though). We're off to Tenerife straight after the Young Stars meeting this Wednesday, well down to Gatwick anyway, and don't get back until 4.00am on the day of the Buxton meeting. So alas, it'll be a case of driving back to Heacham if I can keep awake, stop off and get a few groceries (my Bakewell Tarts will have gone off by then), and at lunchtime I'll pop along to the Southern Track Riders meeting. Not my preferred choice, but better than nothing after spending a fortnight and a few days without it....speedway that is Hope you, Chris and the family are well. Take Care Mike

Allitt Racing
The fairest thing would be to move play off date to 22nd the rye v Stoke and Lynn v iow would decide everything on track.
Islander15
I think everyone agrees this should be sorted on the track, but you do have to ask yourself why haven't these meetings already been ridden? I'm sure if you ask any of the riders involved, then there may well be extraordinary circumstances this season, but if they miss out on at least 2 extra pay days, and possibly a league title because of logistics then I'm sure they wouldn't be happy. rhidassa
Can't comment on why meetings haven't been ridden etc, but I'm looking forward to Wednesday, and will hopefully be at most if not all of the remaining NL Young Stars home fixtures. I agree why couldn't the cut off date for the NL be the same as the PL. Surely 3 days wouldn't cause a problem as to who Dudley would choose in the semi-final and to sort out when the fixtures are to be arranged. Anyway personally i feel Dudley should be crowned Champions as they have shown that they have been the best team all season.

I agree that this should have been sorted on the track. The reason the Raiders v Potters match has not been ridden is that the two previous attempts to run the meetings have fallen foul to the weather. With riders other commitments the 22nd of September was the only available day. Come on Mr Moorish do the decent thing and let this get sorted on the track, so that all the questions of what if don't have to be asked. Because Dudley want to pick Stoke for next weeks meeting, simples!!!! They still can, but i thought Dudley would choose to race the Raiders as the Potters did run them close at Monmore and beat them at Loomer Rd, where as they soundly beat Rye both home & away. waco
I very much doubt if mr Morrish will move the date to saturday it is far to easy to do . and requires someone with common sense ,,,with a degree of sporting fair play....... Common Sense and Speedway are so distant, that is the reason why so many fans have given up on the sport. As for Mr.Morrish, he and certain promoters dictate what happens, now that is common sense or is it knowledge?
21st century heathen
The date has been changed once. I reiterate my opinion stated last week when considering IOW could miss out through no fault of their own - If clubs cannot complete their fixture list then a 0-75 should be awarded. It's harsh, but is speedway a professional sport or not? It's long-since been rumoured that the Heathens would choose Stoke in the PO semi. Frankly, I think that's utterly ridiculous and it would serve us right if we were knocked out.
waco
It is a professional sport .,not run in a professional way ,unfortunatly the co- ordinator of this league is in my opinion incompetent..

June
Dont think you can call the NL professional can you?? My thinking was that a co-ordinator was needed for the old C/L leagues as teams were made up of mostly young lads coming into the sport, those being students who on times couldn't get to some away meetings because of exams. Fathers/ friends had difficulty driving youngsters to meetings. So I never really thought of it being a professional league. Nowadays don't really know what its suppose to be and I fear that is where our problems lie. Is the N/L a 3rd league and run as the prem? . Is it a developement league as its full of riders with PL experience.? I'm a strong believer in bringing on our young brits and do my best to help them, but I must admit I'm bewildered.
