tcoz88
Blatant gamesmanship and cheating. Blatantly lying on track to get a race stopped is very different from moving at the start. Get some perspective my friend. I have no axe to grind with ipswich but tonight two riders in different heats blatantly cheated in my eyes and the views on many other reasonably minded people. Not just people with blue and gold specs but many what I would call speedway fans shared this view Unfortunately, every rider from every club will do this at some point, heat 11 at foxhall last night my perception was sneddon laid on the track as jorgenson was last, then got 3-3 in the re-run. it works both ways I'm afraid and is part of speedway of today!

Backless
Ignored? Yeah, but you'd push back if he was standing behind you. At no point does the Edinburgh Twitter feed mention "on target", what it does say hat after inning they remain on course for the playoffs - an accomplishment that, should they succeed, would be creditworthy based on their position a few weeks ago. Still, don't let facts get in the way of a flounce.
Arson fire
I like how the official Endburgh twitter account claimed this was "on target" - so not claiming all home points was their plan was it? I think not! Oh and Dekker, you should change your name to "Dicker" - you know why, bellend. Ignored Dekker was there jules honest.....he always goes!!! ......not!!, Ignored? Yeah, but you'd push back if he was standing behind you. Got to say, this is quality :)

Ipswich Jules
Ignored? Yeah, but you'd push back if he was standing behind you. Still, don't let facts get in the way of a flounce. Not quite sure of the relevance of your first part? I'd push back if he was behind me? Why would I "push back" if a blatent troll was stood behind me? You sound like you're almost jealous? Whatever you and Dicker get up to is none of my business and nor do I want to know! "Edinburgh Monarchs @EdinMonarchs Mission accomplished for the Scotwaste Monarchs defeating Ipswich by 48 to 42 and we remain on course for the playoffs" My humble apologies, I put "on target" when I should of put "on course" - how terrible of me! Still, if their mission was to give up a point to their rivals for the play off spot then well played, very well played, we took that point. One more than you got at Foxhall last night. Thanks
DavyH
My ramblings from the Chatzone without any personal abuse to posters like Ipswich Jules And they say that cheats don't prosper eh? Not a great deal of good racing tonight on a slick slippy track after all the recent rain but the controversy more than made up for it. Ipswich looked really decent, every rider either won or looked like winning a race but their antics left a sour taste in the mouth. I can understand why Tressarieu and Tungate stayed down in consecutive heats to get a re-run when on a 5-1 against - every team does it! Surely the rules need changing here - why not make the remaining rider go off 15m if his team-mate is excluded when on a 1-5? Poole got away with murder in heat 7 when he turned right causing the Monarchs to do an emergency stop - every bit as bad as when Derek locked up and was excluded. But for Risager to actually knock off Derek in heat 10 on the last bend and get away with it was unreal, I can only imagine the ref didn't see it!! Good win for Monarchs in the end with Summers outstanding, hopefully we'll clinch that 6th place! After last Fridays's processions at least we have something to talk about! Patches
**Puts tin hat on** Firstly I thought tonight was an extremely entertaining meeting, on a difficult track (due to weather we have had over the last 48 hours) so the first thing to do is say a massive well done and thanks to the track staff, who must have worked so hard to get, not just a meeting on, but a meeting which dished up some close exciting racing. My second thank you goes to Aaron Summers, what a superb choice of guest. A real shame he didn't get his maximum but will be extremely chuffed with tonight's showing. I hope the merry band of Redcar fans who were beside me enjoyed the meeting and have a safe journey home. Something really did annoy me tonight though. No it wasn't the "Gamesmanship" by Ipswitch riders, it was indeed a section of my fellow Monarch supporters. Halfway down the back straight stood a group of "Mature" gentleman who in my opinion are a disgrace to the Monarchs. From the end of heat 2 the vile and venom aimed at young marcel was disgusting. When told in a friendly kind of way "C'Mon lads he's just a young laddie" their venom was soon directed at their own fans. This was the only downer on my night, nothing the Ipswich rider did could match that disgusting behaviour. Now onto the "Gamesmanship" and this is where the tin hat comes in. Yes it is frustrating as a fan when your team is on a 5-1 and the race is stopped because a rider fails to leave the track, however some of the comments on here would only be justified if we Edinburgh were not guilty of having used these kind of tactics in the past also. Off the top of my head I can remember Theo and Derek both laying on track this season when the opposition have been on a 5-1. I think the problem tonight was that it happened two heats in a row, so frustration boiled over. But in my opinion it's all a todo about nothing. Can't wait for next Friday though. Let's hope the weather is a bit kinder to us than it's been of late. Edited September 7, 2012 by Patches
scotchopper
£300 quid! When did that become a fine? What did they do? Park on double yellows outside the stadium? it is more common than you would think george. i heard theo got a £150 fine a few weeks ago when the ref believed he made no effort to clear the track after a fall. definitely 2 witches in that boat tonight, whilst it makes you mad and is blatant cheating you'll never get rid of it completely. all teams do it and i'm sure at the business end of the season most clubs will pay the fine as it can be worth it, it probably gained ipswich a point tonight. would much prefered to have seen marcel try to keep tatlor behind him for another 2 laps. i think you need to relax the rules around awarding races and give refs the option of awarding a 5-1 in this situation regardless of how many laps have been done.
Backless
The Monarchs remain on course for the Play Offs. That is the mission they would wish to accomplish. Only the most simplistic fool would target three points from every home match, particularly with a team that is running with guests at the senior reserve and number one positions - particularly as the missing number one was consistently making a mockery of his lolling average. Take on one of the better teams in the league and getting any sort of win that will keep Edinburgh moving towards the play offs seems like a reasonable, sensible achievement to aim towards. Three league points would be a very well received bonus, but another week under the belt and a step closer to the goal of making he play offs is a satisfactory outcome. Mission Accomplished. scotchopper
Still, if their mission was to give up a point to their rivals for the play off spot then well played, very well played, we took that point. One more than you got at Foxhall last night. whilst i understand your point ipswich really needed to win tonight. if monarchs win their 3 remaining home matches they will finish above the witches. it is certainly no gimme and the pesky weather could still intervene but the monarchs are still favourites. so from that perspective 'mission accomplished' or whatever phrase you want to use. cyclone
Ipswich are now 1 pt above Edinburgh and could conceivably add a further 7 points from their remaining fixtures Newcastle (h), Berwick (a). Monarchs to be certain, would require 9pts from their three home (Glasgow, Rye House, & Leicester), and two remaining away (Newcastle & Rye House). Of course this assumes the weather does not hinder either team. Another possibility of course is that both teams finish level on league points, in which case the actual aggregate for & against point differential would then decide the final play-off slot. Re the "professional lay-downs", which most teams have be guilty of at some stage, imo the 2 laps completed by all four riders should be scrapped, and the refs should have the discretion to declare the result after the first two bends of a race have been completed by the riders.
