Recommended Posts

  Just seen this !!!!! And thats from a Brough Park fan , absolute classic

Yep, the assembled masses at Brough know what racing needs, and that is a bit of grip. That's not the thing in your hair, like. :approve:

Thought Newcastle might have done a bit better at Sheffield last night,I mean just about everybody wins there these days. :D

Bit of a must win meeting for play-off chasing Newcastle, they are well capable of winning of course, but Im hoping that the Berwick team will want to show they are not as bad as they were at Redcar, and of course we have Alden and Apegren back in the team.

Plus Nicky Barrett is back too, and they have in Nick Morris a hopefully dependable guest at No 1. Seven riders!

As far as I can tell, rider-replacement for Ricky Ashworth didn't score a single point last night!

I would go for the Gp, at least you'll get some passing and wont have to be subjected to Jacobsen.

Good, that leaves the rest of us to enjoy a proper speedway meeting without wondering if the little black cloud above your head will rain on the track

Do what I do,record the GP and get along to Shielfield, must admit the GPs are getting more appealing, then of course you run the risk of our centre green presenter dropping the odd hint as to how the GP is going.

Not much chance of that. The coffin dodger and his sidekick still think its an achievement to bring news of a meeting in Workington.

Thet can announce updates from Workington,Rye House,Leicester,Stoke,or anywherelse for that matter, but please think of those who are forgoing the GP to support speedway at Berwick.....it really isnt to much to ask is it.

Unless Micky Dyer is ruled out after his crash and withdrawal last nite at Redcar, Berwick will only have one guest, who is Nick Morris.

Micky rode at Edinburgh tonight scored 0 no handshakes from his teammates tonight like his opponents last week so hopefully he will be riding tomorrow night

Whats wrong with that for goodness sake! Most tracks do it and its good to know how other meetings are going as long as the GP updates are left. Words fail me at times as some folk on these forums were at the end of a queue when the 'matter' was handed out!

Most tracks don't make a song and dance about "hoping to bring score updates from the other matches" like it involves some mystical spell and communication from a different dimension.

Although perhaps that IS how they receive the scores - it would be in keeping with the Harry Potter disciple who writes what are laughingly described as press releases.

No matter, setting aside the defeat of the select team at Redcar as being somewhat less than representative of Berwick's current situation, add in Morris as a guest based on previous performances against a Newcastle team that must have been disappointed with their own showing on Thursday and, with a bit of luck, the Berwick promotion could get a match worthy of the crowd they're deservedly expecting.

The trial of reduced admission is a bold move, and seems to be something Berwick are committed to rather than a one-off attempt to bring in punters to tempt them back @ £15 the next week. Hopefully the early encouraging signs continue.

I wouldn't argue with that for a moment.

Which is an aspect of what, generally, is an excellent, forward thinking, pro-active promotional setup that urgently needs addressing.

It's self defeating if their news, report and initiatives like the ongoing admission price trial doesn't get the publicity they deserve because most of the recipients either chuckle at the content or simply employ email filters to avoid such juvenile trivia.

How much higher profile would the activities of the club be? Difficult to say, but if such things were taken seriously (and perhaps read?) by the media, it would surely be a little higher.

Yes Think it is a must win meeting for Berwick given Plymouths win last night which puts them 3 points behind and they are home to Berwick next Friday.
