Redcar V Berwick 6th Sept

Recommended Posts

Strange looking Berwick team for Thursday- taken from their website. Ashworth, Barrett, Aspegren and Alden all missing and Rider Replacement, Eklof, Aarnio and Vissing in!

This is the best one yet try explaining this little gem to a newcomer he,d lose interest before the tapes went up .

Actually, a newcomer wouldn't care.

They would see motorbikes going sideways -- the names, and true affiliations, of the riders would mean nothing.

It would be great, because they would see what we sometimes don't -- short, sharp four-lap dashes between four crazy men.

Ignorance can be bliss.

Noticed that Edberg was listed in the Hammerby team for tomrrow night in Sweden

I take that, as he's at Berwick most weekends & it's been announced that the Argentinian kid has signed a 2013 contract, 1. we can guess Berwick's reserves for next year & 2. they don't intend winning anything (other than the pairs or the fours). it'll be a race against time for Albin to get a real average (i.e. lower than Edberg) before Edberg's first injury of the year & has to be replaced by a NL guest. Nice lad though.

Easy, keep everything crossed my son

Alden and Aspegren have to ride in Sweden thats why they are absent. Barrett still not fully fit

Your point is ?

I am fully aware of why both riders are not available, also our injury problems.

The comment was simply aimed at our dear friend from Newcastle, Tsunami. Under the circumstances Berwick can only keep it's fingers crossed for Thursday night against Redcar. :icon_smile_clown:

He would only be confused if he liked what he saw and went to Berwick to see the Bandits.:D

At the moment not sure how many Redcar fans care about the opposition, morale on Teesside is at an all time low since the sport returned to us. Hard to put finger on as everyone was fairly happy with the team at the start but ever since early injury to Havvy it has gone rapidly down hill.

Everyone moans about the track, but to be fair it has generally been a gaters paradise since we tweeked the track from its originally lay out - it is a fact that racing has never been as good since the early days as riders cant straighten up as early thus they can get the speed up to use the bank on 3 and 4 which is just a total waste of time now as the only people who go that far up end up falling anyway.

But back to this week, hopefully the weather my get a few people there, but the team just has not got the fans on side. It really is a case of roll on 2013 and have to say only Summers should survive the 2012 cull. (and maybe Dilger).

Going by the posts put on Bears Talk, the main consensus is that Havvy Senior is the main cause to the clubs problems.

For the long term future, he has to go.

I sort of agree Simmo, but not sure the Consortium doesnt take a lot of the blame too - clearly they make sure the purse strings are tight too, just like Havvy snr does - think they have all done a lot of positives but something just isnt right at the club.

It is such a shame as some clubs would kill to have the now very good infrastructure and core fan base Redcar have, if we had a side pushing for silverware or at the very least entertaining, then finance is not an issue at the club - but they are currently in danger of losing a lot of fans through pure apathy.

One thing the club does need to improve is presentation - Gareth Rogers may do it out of good will, but he is truly awful - does nothing to get the home fans going at all. RIP Ron McNeil! Now there was a man who could present speedway!

Be careful for what you wish for.

What a complete farce!

It is,but in this case its not of Berwicks making, you sign riders that have European committments its likely this kind of thing will happen at some stage. To be fair though our team for Redcar is as strong and maybe stronger than it wouldve been had our normal 1-7 been there.

To be fair there would be no certainty either Alden or Aspegren's teams would make play offs when they signed?

Berwick should revel in the conditions we have honed our gating skills week in week out this season, marching up the table as we achieve just another victory

Aaahhh - an optimist. :t::blink:
