Dekker
No he doesn't. As a Brit would automatically be a 3 regardless Where on earth did you pull that one from???? incorrect, ask ash holloway & henning loof what happened when they got danish league experience before trying PL both got stuck with a 7pt ave as they had ridden in the "superior" league. ash could have been a 3 & henning a 5 if they had started out in their respective countries junior leagues. the assesed ave comes from the previous standard of league ridden in not for being british. if he is as good as his scores show he will make a mockery of 5pt ave anyway. iris123
What would happen if he becomes German U21 champ without riding in the Bundesliga?Does being a national champion give you an automatically higher assesed average?Like you,i don't think having a 5 point starting average will bother any promoters or the lad himself
steve povey
Don't forget there is another 14 year old Nathan Greaves ,he will srely be in the National League next year, i bet if he had been in Germany this year too he would have made his mark too. When Robert and Nathan race each other ther is nothing between them.
25yearfan
Why not next year, Robert Lambert doubles up with Rye House in the NL and riding in Germany?
Shadders
Why? Because I'd like to see him racing in the PL.
Bagpuss
Plus if he can double up then why would he only race less than half of the meetings available to him? No reason why he couldn't ride EL, PL and have regular trips to Germany.
iris123
Why not next year, Robert Lambert doubles up with Rye House in the NL and riding in Germany? I think it is pretty difficult to do that.A lot ofthe time Robert will be at a German track to sign in at 9 am saturday morning or sunday morning. Can he make an NL meeting on a friday night or saturday night and then get to germany for practice the next morning? From talking to the family they travel round in a camper rather than flying over so i can't see it.And anyway when i was talking to them NL just didn't appear to be in their future plans. They were talking about doing meetings in Sweden + Poland more than GB.Not sure how it would all work as i think the Polish junior league rides thursdays.I do think though if they didn't need U15 meetings this year then they won't be looking at NL level for Roberts further development Edited September 15, 2012 by iris123
LagutaRacingFan
From what I understand, He has signed a pre-contract with Polonia Bydgoszcz.
SCB
I just don't see why a man (or kid, he's 14!) would want to ride NL when he's beating Schlein and Kennett on the continent. I don't fall for this crap of riding laps will always help, no it won't, for me thats a killer. What helps is learning that the first bend (where 90% of races are won and lost) is a hard place and coping with it as you progress, he won't get that in the NL. Alan_Jones
Robert confirmed in his BikerFM interview tonight that the current thinking is to stay in Germany next year, with possible league racing in Denmark, and go straight into the Premier League. His team of choice at the moment is Rye House, who he said have been very helpful to him. He came across as very level headed and mature in his first radio interview,

He may even decide to skip the PL altogether and go straight into the EL with the possibility of doubling up.

Well that's interesting, as Adam Ellis has been proving at least the match for Nathan Greaves in the rounds of the U-15s Adam's done this year - winning two rounds, runner-up in the other. So best throw Adam (who has learnt HIS trade in France!!) into tyhe mix. Adam's older and can (and has) ridden in the NL already...

iris123
As i suspected Robert is down for the German U21 Championship.Looking at the line-up,he stands a good chance as well.Probably Huckenbeck his main challenger. Will be interesting to see the offspring of Gerd Riss also http://www.speedway.org/dm-praedikate/2012/races/index.html

Though obviously I think it's great he's riding in it, I would imagine some German riders/fans might have reservations...
iris123
With a German licence he has been riding in the North German qualifying rounds.Last time i looked he was top scorer in the North having won 4 rounds and came second in one other.Think the German Championships have always been open to those who hold a German licence.Marvyn Cox,Todd Wiltshire and others have all rode in the senior Championship. Won't pretend that i know the feelings of the fans at large, but what i will say is those opinions i have seen or heard have only been positive in regards Robert and wanting to see him ride in more events. He has got himself quite a decent fan following in a year Edited September 24, 2012 by iris123

HenryW
Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere but, if it's not, I thought it was worth offering congratulations to Robert for his 2nd place in the German U21 championship at Gustrow. He took Marcel Helfer and Valentin Grobauer to a 3 way race off for the title, but fell just short of being the U21 champion for Germany. The race off can be seen here...

iris123
Good win for Marcel and super result for Robert. Also both the Riss boys look good as they only had their first speedway meeting at the start of the season and Mark was just a lap and a bit away from winning the title before his bike packed up
