King's Lynn Stars 2013

Recommended Posts

I don't think Kozza's confidence will be hit too hard if he can score double figures for Berwick each week like he did last Saturday. Apart from P'boro away he's beaten an opponent in each meeting for Lynn so far.

To answer semion Worrall only needs to ride in one more match for his average to jump up to five and a half. Can't see Belle Vue letting that happen.

You think they may want to keep under wraps for the reminder of the season ? Anyway lets hope Buster and Rob stick with Kozza for a good while yet. After all he is no Ricky Wallace. ;) I feel sure come the end of the season Smith will have increased his starting average.

If anyone wanting Kozza dropped can find a better option on 3.38 or doubling up on just under 5 from the PL then good luck to you.

Must agree.

Smith has shown he can have good meetings in the EL, but is still finding his feet coming back from injury.

Give the lad time!

He scored more than his average in the home meeting against Peterborough. He is not there to be a world beater he is there to just get a few points, he is also there to help bond the team as he is a very good team player ask any rider who has ridden with him. and also he is good with the fans give the guy a break we have only ridden 3 meetings !!

I think it's too early to talk or suggest about any changes to the team just yet. We've only played 3 matches all very different situations. The first one away to Peterborough was real close, until the last few heats when we pulled away to win comfortable. Apart from Niels, all the riders had good rides and some not so good. but its early and mistakes will happen. The sense of team spirit was very evident and was pleasant to see. The second match was a complete contrast, whereas this time, Niels was troubled all night, but the team pulled through by other members, scoring the points. Last night, against a strong Poole side, was always going to be difficult. Although fortunes favoured us, we didn't get the win we would have liked. Again Niels led from the front, but unfortunately this time, some of the others didn't perform as we know they can. To come away with a point is positive. We are not good enough to win every match, so yeah we will be disappointed at times. But I feel confident we will improve with time. Everyone of our team can increase his average, so lets persevere and go forward. By the end of the season we should be in the top four, and when we have to go to Poole again we know we can perform better then we did last night.

Give Kozza a fair crack of the whip I say. He's just come back from a bad injury and has been sat out a while. We've only had 3 EL meetings so far and Berwick's season hasn't fully kicked off yet. Like some others here, I think he needs more meetings for more race time, not less. Anyway, he brings more to the team than that. He's the sort of character we missed last year. There was no team spirit last season. That was most of our trouble I think! Without a togetherness, I feel you have very little.

  • 3 weeks later...

Stead's apparently dislocated his shoulder.

My ideal replacement would be Oliver Allen If I was the Kings Lynn promotion.

If you were the King's Lynn promotion you would know you can only use R/R for a d/u rider in the main body of the team.If there is only the one rider out

I think JJ meant if Steady is out injured for a while Olly would be an ideal replacement not guest.

I hope Steady is only missing for a very short period of time, if indeed he is going to miss our meetings next week. If he's going to be out for much longer, i.e 28 days, then signing a temporary replacement might be the way to go, like Poole have done with Miskowiak and Andersson. Relying on R/R may not be enough as it'd put more pressure on the reserves, in particular, Seb Alden, as he's performed consistently so far compared to Kozza, although Koz looked better this Wednesday just gone. With Rory and Nicolai both dealing with mechanical gremlins, Simon's injury couldn't have come at a worse time :( The only bonus is that thankfully it wasn't a break! I hope he has a speedy recovery!

TBF, the form Alden is in, Wednesday shoudn't be a problem. Tuesday at Lakeside it could be a blessing! A ride each for Mads and Nicolai means Seb should only need to take two rides and Simon is pants at Lakeside.
