semion
Agree but you can't have a situation where assets become worthless overnight just because a particular system is not working. If I told my bank manager that the assets valued in my last audited accounts were worth £100K and now were worthless I doubt I would be getting support from him and he would be advising me to close the business. The bigger picture needs to be looked at hear otherwise............... and would you include your employees as fixed assets in your accounts ? I think not. I cant see NatWest being to excited by that, if you did.
Barney Rabbit
and would you include your employees as fixed assets in your accounts ? I think not. I cant see NatWest being to excited by that, if you did. I very much doubt a rider is included as a club's asset in any financial valuation other than when a promoter sells up. That doesn't mean though that Mr Frost, and any other promoter willing in the past to buy rather than borrow a rider he wanted to use should lose out because of it. The sport has a transfer system in place and promotions using it should not lose out because of a few who no longer wish to play ball for their own particular reasons. Strange though that the two currently complaining about Peterborough's stance have utilised the current system recently to acquire an asset or two.
Bagpuss
I think screamer has it right on another thread, if the asset system is to fall then the clubs who have spent money need recompensing through higher loan fees or whatever. It will have to be a gradual process rather than bang, everyone is suddenly a free agent.

You certainly would if you sold the business - unless they were retained and sold as 'optional extras'. Daniel Smith
so, it looks as though most EL clubs admission prices are going to be £17 per adult. We all OK with that????? I've always said £20 is my limit. Once the EL reaches that point that's me done.

Bagpuss
Personally I can't justify seventeen quid fourteen times next season so will pick my matches accordingly. May well take in one or two NL meetings but we'll see. Like screamer I don't think I'd pay any more than £20.
speedy17
Its a ten pound sport. Always has been. And wont start growing again until it returns to that sort of price.
em1500uk
Hmm. Well £17 is still OK for me personally but then again I'm very lucky in my own situation. That extra pound won't cause me any issues. Saying that though, not everyone is in the same boat. That extra pound could be enough to stop certain fans from going. Everything is going up in price these days and many people are feeling the pinch. With people losing their jobs through businesses going under, it doesn't bode very well for the entertainment industry in general, but especially speedway as it's a minority interest in my eyes compared to other sports that get bigger and better media coverage. Rickyb
According to the new Stars website, admission is going to be £16 same as last year, £10 for Young Stars. So I will carry on going but like others will pick meetings if it goes up.
BluPanther
Its 15.50 at Ipswich, thats too much for prem lge and the fall in crowds reflects this i believe.
bigcatdiary
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe Leicester is more than that, with the standard of racing there I wouldn't even pay £10. Once was enough

If they increased it to £17 in line with most other EL clubs, they might be able to buy NKI!!!!!!??
Bagpuss
I stand to be corrected but I don't think there has been an announcement on next year's prices, and I wouldn't be suprised if the prices on the website are out of date? Would be very pleased if it stays at sixteen quid of course.

We'd all like to be paying less obviously, but compared to EL prices i think Ipswich have pitched it about right. Most EL clubs are charging £17 with a lot charging £1 for the car park. Ipswich at £15.50 with free car parking for PL is not unreasonable in comparison imo.

Promotion did say at the supporters meeting that nothing had been confirmed until the 1-7 were to be completed
