Orbiter
Far to much hype over this team, I reckon they we flop like a wet jelly.
Bagpuss
Good point, 'young' Michael used to keep the show ticking along nicely, big shoes to fill..... My guess would be Kevin Moore, my choice however would be Darren Fletcher.
RobStefenson
Pretty sure Dazza is the presenter at boro?
Crump99
My guess would be Kevin Moore, my choice however would be Darren Fletcher. If you can't afford Iversen and have spent your wad on Schlein then there's no way that you can afford Fletcher unless a loan deal can be agreed Edited December 12, 2012 by Crump99
Greg
Any news on the NKI front ?
semion
Pretty sure Dazza is the presenter at boro? Look after NKI, then if he wants to leave P'boro to join Lynn then there is nothing to stop him. I am waiting to read in the Star that its either Lynn or Norman Stanley is not going to annouce in the UK. As a 2nd choice Instead of Darren Fletcher how about that other Darren in P'boro, he will be looking for another job come the summer. Bagpuss
Not gonna say anything about the other Darren until we have safely negotiated the third round of the FA cup as for Mr Fletcher, I'm sure he's an asset of Radio 5 Live

RobStefenson
Never been impressed with Nicolai, Came to my club with a huge reputation of being a wonder kid but never really delivered. g13webb
This is the season of good will and glad tidings to all men, so here’s hoping you’ll take this thread in the gesture it given. Here are a few of my many wishes: I wish that all matches were even and closely fought and the results were never predictable. I wish all teams strengths would make them capable of getting to the play-offs…. I wish the weather were good for all Speedway matches….. I wish all races tracks were prepared in the correct way to produce good racing. I wish all race meetings can be concluded in 2 hrs flat….. 2nd half to be extras.. I wish all entrances were £10, and each track was packed to the rafters…. I wish common sense ruled in all arguments. I wish that all decisions were made for the benefit of the sport. and lastly: I wish Kings Lynn Stars a successful season. But just one more ,...... I would like to take this opportunity in wishing all fellow Speedway Supporters, Forum Posters; Promoters: Riders and everyone else who are connected with the sport A Truly Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year…

g13webb
Am I right in thinking the Niels - Peterboro'- Lynn issue will be decided this Wednesday at a BSPA meeting, or have I got that wrong too.. The way things are going, teams will not be completed before the season starts.
Bagpuss
Panic ye not! Fourteen weeks until our first EL meeting, I'm sure the matter will be resolved one way or the other long before then.
Daniel Smith
Waiting on official confirmation but it's looking like bad news for us Stars It's buy Iversen or look for another option. BSPA won't sanction the side with Iversen as a loan rider. Apparently it's an EL agreement (I have no idea) that a rider on loan at one club, if required for a 3rd year has to be purchased
Bagpuss
If thats the case then its the correct decision IMO. So which is it to be, Mr Warnes to dig a bit deeper or Jonathan to put 'Plan B' into action?

Will PUK be brave enough to try the legal route? Edited December 19, 2012 by Steve0

Apparently it's an EL agreement (I have no idea) that a rider on loan at one club, if required for a 3rd year has to be purchased I suspect, if this is the case, it will set a precedent for the current issue with Ben Barker and Coventry/Birmingham. In that case, if Birmingham want to use Barker, Birmingham will have to buy Barker too. He is a loan rider required for a third year. So PUK has to sit out the EL season just because some megalomaniac won't play ball - speedway keeps shooting itself in the foot surely it is better to get a loan fee rather than nothing? Will PUK be brave enough to try the legal route? Tell me, Steve. What was your opinion on the Meidzinski, Swindon, Poole dispute last season? Were you happy for Poole to use a rider who you wanted to use yourself and just pay the loan fee? Steve0
Tell me, Steve. What was your opinion on the Meidzinski, Swindon, Poole dispute last season? Were you happy for Poole to use a rider who you wanted to use yourself and just pay the loan fee? The difference was that Miedzinski was "tapped up" and he also had many points improvement in him effectively making him worthless on his new average - the same cannot be said about PUK! Also - did Peterborough want him in their team? Additionally, I have never been a fan of the asset system anyway. G the Bee
I don't think that should come into it. There should be set rules about when an asset should be purchased and when they should not be. Rider averages, financial value or scope for improvement should have no bearing on whether the asset should be purchased or not, only what the purchase price, if necessary, should be. The problem is, the rules do not appear to be applied consistently. Here are some examples I can think of,although, I admit,, time may have clouded my accuracy. Nicholls wanted to come to Coventry, Ipswich wanted to keep him, Coventry had to buy Nicholls from Ipswich. Kennett wanted to come to Coventry, Eastbourne wanted to keep him, Coventry had to buy Kennett from Eastbourne. Hancock wanted to go to Oxford, Coventry wanted him to ride for them, Oxford got to loan him. Meidzinski wanted to go to Poole, Swindon wanted him to ride for them, Poole got to loan him. Sure there are plenty more. Was there a similar situation with Chrzanowski and Swindon and Poole?
