SCB
The fact that in the recent SWC, his own country and fellow Aussies, thought he was that bad, they would rather pick someone who rides in the PL then going with Rory. There isn't a bigger snub then that. I hear he's having a few problems as well as machinery issues, but these need to be sorted pronto. You can't expect the supporters to keep paying good money to watch someone, who quite frankly, is second rate. I hate to think what he's cost the club, that's counting the points as well as the money..... Rory has quit riding for Australia. Plus I assume you're talking about Jason Doyle, the 7+ (almost 8) EL rider, hardly a disgrace being "snubbed" for him.

Rory has retired from representing Australia plus his average is lower the PL standard rider you are alluding to in the EL anyway so all round the right call was made on team selection. Doyle 7.39 Schlein 6.97 . Enough said.
semion
Who is the Premier League rider ? Surely Not Jason Doyle who is currently riding at Number one for the League leaders ? Edited July 23, 2013 by semion
foreverblue
Always thought Doyle a very talented rider but injuries have held him back and now he is fulfilling his potential. if the Aussies have a team with Holder, ward, batchelor and Doyle they could have a real chance in the world cup. Agreed, Ive been saying for years I rate Doyley quite highly and always felt he had underachieved. I still think he has a lot more in him and could be an 8.5+ EL rider. semion
Just as a little side issue. Today saw the Premier Of the new Alan Partridge film, Alpha Papa, In Norwich. The film is based on a DJ who has a slot on North Norfolk Digital Radio. Now as I recall didnt our former presenter Mike Bennett have a slot on there. Could it be that Partridge is in fact based on Bennett ? AAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAA Edited July 24, 2013 by semion

Star Fever
Can't believe this thread has gone quiet ... does it mean people are happy with our team now or just resigned to the fact that our season is over ?

kelvinht
Had enough bad luck and changes to last us a decade. This team needs to settle down quick and deliver now - if it doesn't there is no point point making further changes as the play-off's will have passed us by

Maybe I'm just a bit peeved that the wrong changes were made .. nothing against Lebedev or Porsing - both great signings for the future .. but not at the time when we we still had play-off hopes, because neither of them could surely have been expected to replace the scoring of Simon Stead...and they certainly haven't. Bagpuss
Difficult to see who could have been signed to replace Stead and Klindt on the averages they were on. Our Play Off hopes were over as soon as Stead broke his leg IMO. I'm not keen on any more chopping and changing to be honest, but we could finish reasonably strongly if Rory & Mads can find a bit of form. Daniel Smith
With the cancellation of the Lakeside meeting, I think it's to do with a team change more than electrical issues. I might just be being a little to over suspicious
