King's Lynn Stars 2013

Recommended Posts

Let me just clarify, this 3 year rule isn't a rule as such but (supposedly) a "gentleman's agreement" within the sport.

I'm guessing that P'Boro / BSPA are enforce this on King's Lynn.

Question I have for us Kings Lynn supporters is; Will you be happy to pay the increase to £17 on the gate for the purchase of Iversen?????

So it's not a Rule; its purely an Option that the parent club could use if required.......... Now I've heard it all.....

Call them rules.... I call it a laughing stock...

Could this be because EL 'owned' double-uppers have to ride in the PL and are actually loaned to the PL clubs for the season. Any doubling-up is negotiated with the rider and the PL club he is at so it could be argued by those that want to that he'll be 'on loan' to Wolves from Sheffield not Coventry. If Wolves want to buy him as their asset that's between them and his parent club, not the club he's on loan at. Theoretically, if Belle Vue wanted to buy Mads they would have to negotiate with Swindon not KL even though he would still ride at KL for the remainder of his riding contract with them.

I'm not saying that is the reason, but it seems perfectly logical to me.

I don't see it like that at all GRW, for me Vincent simply has a problem with rules not being followed (as his regular contributions on Poole threads shows), and I'm afraid in this instance our club appears to have offered Puk a deal without his parent club's permission.

I agree that the asset system isn't ideal but the cart is being put before the horse here, its no good ignoring the rules, getting rumbled and then saying that the asset system should be abolished. And while I agree that Mr Frost is dragging his heels a bit now as the rules stand he's perfectly within his rights to make everyone sweat as long as he pleases, he holds all the Aces.

As I've said before there are over three months until Lynn's first EL match, and I'm sure it'll all be sorted in plenty of time. To answer screamer, an extra pound won't make too much difference to me although there were a few meetings last year that I didn't attend (mainly the ones on Sky) due to cost and there will be this year too, unfortunately in the current climate I'm finding EL speedway very expensive and not great value for money. However the love I have for my team will probably see me go to the majority of the meetings again.

I would pay £20 to watch Niels each week, But with one proviso, and that would be that we never deal with them Cats again.

They have really shown their true colours....

It would be useful to know where yourself and Bagpuss individually watch your speedway from at tha NA for future reference. Bagpuss obviously frequents the sensible zone whereas you would be in the frothing at the mouth zone which I would like to avoid if possible :)

I have never agreed with the ‘Illegal aproach’, but come on, lets put it into prospective. It happens all the time, and those whose think otherwise are burying the heads in the sands. It’s the first form of communication, whats the point of going after a rider if he doesn’t want to ride for you.. This has been made into a mountain. What should have happened is the two clubs sat around a table with the rider and sort out a deal that suited everybody. Not drag it out in public and then before the MC.

Never have I said the Asset System should be abolished. I am in no doubt there needs to be a system, but one that works. The rules need to be updated to keep it in line with present day workings of a speedway rider. When someone like Mr Frost can dictate to the sport where and when his riders go then it only highlights all the inadequacies of the system and rules should be changed stopping this from happening. For one man to hold all the ‘ACES’ is deportment to the sport.

The club in hindsight should never have mentioned at the supporters meeting they have / want Niels at No'1

Announce the 6 & just say they're waiting on a come back from 2-3 riders.

It's clear as day Swindon have spoke to Hans & Troy but they haven't put it too public knowledge. Only the 2 riders making the noise.

GRW123, your fast becoming a bit of a MJJ, KKS, Stevebrum as being fascinated with something, with this topic. You'll get your Niels, on loan, so relax.

Come on, calm down.

Point taken........ Happy Christmas....

You really do need to take your rose tinted glasses off. If it were the other way round you would still be backing your team. You could not have had it explained any clearer but still you continue to stick your fingers in your ears, la la la la la la. My team can do no wrong and if they do it was a stupid rule.

This absolute biased opinion is why these forums always end up in conflict. Look at the bigger picture it contains many colours.

I cant understand why everyone assumes 'skullduggery' has taken place with regard to Niels, Hans,Troy.

Surely its equally as likely that the riders themselves have asked or told the respective promoters (Lynn/Swindon) that they'd be happy to return, so why does everyone assume its the promoters that have 'offered a deal without permission' ? All the promoters could be guilty of is saying 'yes we'd happily have you back if possible'.

Just a thought.

It seems you say something that some Panthers fans don't like and you get compared to KKS - happened to me too

We are all entitled to our opinions and I don't see why anyone has to revert to comparisons with the site's troll! I can see both points of view but choose not to attack the poster - just the post!
