Scandinavian Gp Malilla Saturday 8th September

Some good races tonight..... track was prepared well ....and we had a crowd that didnt embarrass the sport

I think that could well have ended AJ's GP hopes for 2013..... with so many top class youngsters looking for a place (+ Jarek) and so few places up for grabs I could see IMG being tempted to leave him out

is bias really that blinding?

If he gets left out due to a Brit then it's a disgrace.

So you REALLY think they are going to leave the current world number 2 out after a dodgy season, I think you have more chance of seeing a modest Poole fan :D

Easy to make such statements from behind a keyboard. Would you honestly call him a bell end to his face?

Not a dogs chance ;)

Sudden Sam one of my favorite riders ever was an expert at closing the door, he did Chris Louis twice in one night at Monmore to get Jan Staechmann thru. Chris did not ride in the second half and buggered off home in disgust

As for Nicki/Andreas ... Nicki was in front and the gap was closing, time to shut the throttle off AJ or pay the price ... great to see its only brusing tho, AJ is a great rider :approve:

Really enjoyed that GP, one of the few times I've been glued to watching a speedway meeting this season. Isn't Malilla being taken off the GP calendar for next year? A great shame if it is, typical that one of, if not the best rounds of the season is the one to be scrapped

Pleased for Gollob, seen him have so many poor meetings this year where he's looked lost and not interested, backing out of moves he'd have pulled off with ease in years gone by, for whatever reason it looked like things really clicked for him again tonight though and the GPs are much better with an on form Gollob. Not really much of a fan of his but you have to be impressed with him when he's at the top of his game. Well done to Lindback too, seems to have come from nowhere in the 2nd half of the season and looking stronger than ever suddenly.

Hope AJ's ok and hope he gets a pick for 2013 too as it's looking like he's the Swede who's going to miss out on the top 8. Didn't see many replays of his crash but it looked to me like Nicki was taking the racing line off the final corner and although ruthless was entitled to be where he was on the track. Perhaps an exclusion for being Nicki Pedersen? Made for some entertaining tv in the pits afterwards though and good on Nicki for keeping calm the rest of the night and not getting involved in more incidents as often seems to happen when Pedersen gets upset

Enjoyed the GP with some excellent racing. Shame its the last GP there for a while.

I thought Jonsson was going for a gap that Pedersen had every right to block off. Racing incident but because it was Nicki P it was blown out of all proportion. Glad Andreas is ok.

I dont think he has been having a dodgy season ..... if anything last season was the blip where he had a hell of a second half..... this season has continued the ever so slight decline over a period getting on for 10 years

but...... he was on course for a top 8 .....or for a hell of a fight with Lindback, where if he had lost out he most likely wouldnt be far behind........ which in the wonderful world of the IMG offices can be crucial.......... end up 20 points adrift, and even worse with the wrong rider sandwiched inbetween and you can be cut faster than you can say Rune Andersen

Vaculik, Ward, & Hampel are 3 names which i'm expecting to be nailed on ........Jepsen Jensen is someone else who of course they must be strongly looking at ...............and lets not forget the ridiculous but highly possible option of giving a WC to a Brit

in AJ's favour is if Vaculik can qualify direct from the challenge...........Lindback and/or Jepsen Jensen qualifying would also help him......... and if 1 or 2 Aussies were to qualify it would put Ward's WC in jeopardy

Edit: actually after refreshing on AJ's GP career what I have said is incorrect.....rather than a slow decline he has been pretty up and down in that time ... not sure how that changes the selection issues he faces though

I think I agree here.

AJ only got a chance to make his 2nd place last year due to 6 races at Bydgoszcz in 2010. Before that final round in 2010, I think I am safe to say that he was NOT getting a place in the 2011 series.

It will be interesting to see whether his 2011 blip in form will gain him a place in 2013.

Like others here ,i really enjoyed that one.As i said before,if that is what happens with dodgy silencers then please keep them!!!Not going to comment any more on the AJ/NP incident, but they know what they get when they stick a camera under Nicki's nose straight after such an incident.Have to say that Gollob was taking no prisoners in those last couple of heats.Charging under Lindbäck etc and then closing the door on Holder. If Chris hadn't have shut off then the same thing would have happened to him that happened to AJ imo.Good to hear that AJ is ok.And great to hear that young Robert Lambert finished 4th in a very good meeting yesterday. Our one real hope for the future???

pedersen is pedersen a complete tosser

3 times World Champion and one of the biggest draw cards in World Speedway, I am sure he will be cut to the quick about your remarks ... NOT

And of course you would know plenty about being an irrelevant tosser...

Some days you call things just so right :t:
