Pinjar Park, Perth Australia - Resident Riders Named

Recommended Posts

Its with great pleasure the Speedway Motorcycle Club WA can announce its two import Resident Riders for summer 2012. Returning to Perth is young English star Joe Jacobs and the very talented Victorian racer Ryan Sedgmen.

Born in Ipswich England, Joe came to Perth highly recommended and soon showed he meant business with a well deserved 3rd place in the 2011 WA solo title, just behind his Mildenhal team mate Cameron Heeps and veteran rider Frank Smart. If not for a broken ankle mid season Joe was improving at a rapid rate and after a few weeks on the sidelines he made a great return to racing and showed everyone he was there to race. Since then Joe's been in some career best form with Mildenhal in the British National league and also qualified for the 2012 British U21 championships.

Joining Joe is Mildura's Ryan Sedgmen. Ryan made his first Perth appearance last summer during the Kennard's Hire 'King of Pinjar' and made a big impact on the meeting with some gusty riding. Ryan is another very talented young rider and with stints in the British League's to his name the former Australian U16 Champion is very much looking to spending his summer in Perth. Struck down by illness and injuries a couple of years back Ryan is again fully fit and looking to get his career back on track and this is the perfect opportunity.

These two young stars will now join marquee signing, Sweden’s Ricky Kling and form one of the strongest fields of solo riders in Perth for many years. With local rider numbers at an all-time high and the sport going through a mini resurgence it’s all looking good for another season of top class speedway motorcycle racing at Perth’s ultra-exciting Pinjar Park speedway.

The Speedway Motorcycle Club WA would like to thank the following people for their fantastic support in making this all happen. The Heeps & Ballantyne families, Todd Russell from Russell Landscaping along with Marshall McDiarmid's Motorworld in Wangara, a huge thanks to you all.
