screm
Did it look significantly bigger ( the crowd ) to what a Berwick/Monarchs meeting usually attracts ? Maybe not significantly bigger certainly a healthy crowd, the seats that are on the pits side of the tunnell are never that well populated most meetings, but last night there was quite a few fans there, infact the main grandstand was well populated throughout. Look to me that the lower priced certainly brought a few extra out, hopefully that will happen for Glasgow in their low price meeting today. Fromafar
Did it look significantly bigger ( the crowd ) to what a Berwick/Monarchs meeting usually attracts ? I would say so,dont know how many Monarchs fans though ,the usual number on back strait .PS Seb would have to cut a few inches of his Handlebars to Pass the Wily Fox last night. Shadders
He will need help at the bottom end , hopefull Micky has done enough to convince the management that he deserves a chance next year if he wants to come back to Berwick that is He'll be run out of town long before the start of next season. cyclone
Did it look significantly bigger ( the crowd ) to what a Berwick/Monarchs meeting usually attracts ? As I only go to Berwick when Monarchs are there, it did appear bigger. Given our defeat the previous evening and the additional outlay for a double header, I reckon the £10 admission did entice some visiting fans who were having second thoughts. Having visited the home & back straights, thought Monarchs support was the norm, but there did appear to be a healthy increase in local support, probably buoyed up by the Sheffield away victory & the reduced admission. The queue for the catering was certainly bigger and I hope they finally managed to provide chips which were unavailable for some time. Re Facundo Albin, believe he holds dual nationality and would expect him to be assessed on 5, based on his Spanish passport. As fellow Argentinian Covatti is surpassing expectations with Birmingham, I'm sure a few clubs would also be willing to gamble on signing Albin for 2013.,

Still confused. Is that because Spain is in the EU? If so, why do Danes and Swedes come in on 7.00 assessed averages?

Also takes account of their overseas league experience, hence why Barrett came in on 7, but Helfer, despite riding in an SGP Qualifier, was initially assessed at 5, having only ridden in German leagues. The EU passport automatically opens the door to enter without work permits, unlike the likes of say, Tyson Nelson, would testify

As I say I liked the enthusiasm he gave in the monarchs cause. As I say I wrote on this forum perhaps questioning James this year a bit, I don't mind being proved wrong and James really excelled the past two nights. bigeddiechek
Did it look significantly bigger ( the crowd ) to what a Berwick/Monarchs meeting usually attracts ? Hard to tell Paulco, but it was certainly a very good crowd. My gut feeling is that it made a big difference. I have my budget for each meeting in these tough times. So I just had more to spend on other things in the stadium. Got my tea there, saved "her indoors" a bit of cooking, and she still gets rid of me for an evening. It's a winner! Fromafar
Prices for next weeks meeting with Newcastle will be held to where they were last night, hopefully the promotion will be rewarded to another decent crowd. Great gesture.

A point I would like to make is these matches against Edinburgh & Newcastle would probably attract decent crowds without the reduction which proves its not just a case of attracting the fans because of the nature of the opposition .The local derbies are the right fixtures to pick though IMO. They are, dont think there is to much wrong in the admission prices as they were,£14-50 seems pretty fair to me,though theres no doubt people are taking advantage of the drop in prices. screm
I personaly think that the admission prices are to high in this economic climate. Fair enough, compared to other PL clubs they are about average,it bound to be difficult to set a price low enough to attract people through the gate, but not low enough where the promotion are losing money hand over fist. Also from reading last nights programme it looks as though we may be looking for a new team sponsor for next season.
