Berwick Vs. Edinburgh (pl) Saturday Sept 1st, 7.00pm

Recommended Posts

It wiil be interesting to hear the Promotions thoughts regarding reduced admission, personally I thought it was quite encouraging to see a good crowd, but I dont know financialy if it was a success.proves that the fans are still out there if the price is right though.

Did they not announce that they are doing the same for the Newcastle meeting?

Heard that Facundo Albin (not sure if that's the correct spelling) is a definite starter next year. Can someone explain why he comes in on a 5 point average?

Financially I guess reduced admission is not always the best idea. We were always coming down regardless, but the reduced admission probably meant we ended up spending more inside on various bits and pieces and as I say the Berwick promotion never fail to impress me. It's always good to get a result when you travel but I think the whole package that Berwick speedway offers fans is very positive.

Not sure why or if he would come in on a 5pt average, but Albin is a certain starter for next year.

Well andersons are a phenomenal butchers do a great steak pie too!

Indeed. Their Scotch pies are legendary. I've been the lucky recipient of a bulk load on a couple of occasions

I'm disappointed I couldn't have been up for the marvellous hog roast. The hog roast the Andersons put on after the Rye House meeting in 2010 was awesome! Very generous promotion. The Bandits fans are a lucky bunch

So it looks like Berwick are going with "entertianers" again then rather than race winners , bringing an a totaly untested rider on an assesed ave is a bad move IMHO

Every time I go to north Berwick, spend a power of cash in their shop!

But yeah the way Berwick are being run and marketed can only breed sustained success

I agree with you, though it is good that we should have another asset coming to the club, whether this is the right time to take a gamble on Albin though is another matter. If he should start next season on a 5pt average, and at reserve will help as he will struggle to attain anything like a 5pt average, certainly to begin with anyway.

He will need help at the bottom end , hopefull Micky has done enough to convince the management that he deserves a chance next year if he wants to come back to Berwick that is ,I dont think there's much chance of him going back to the 'Dale next season so if he's up for grabs we may as well have him .

Post done tongue in cheek always new James would score points as he is a good gater but heat 13 proved he knew how to keep Seb behind race of the season at Berwick i make that paid 32 points over Friday and Saturday still got today to come well done to the Monarchs deserved win what a difference compared to Thursdays great result which Bandits will turn up next Thursday and Saturday ?

Surprised not more people have mentioned the track ! Absolutely zero dirt on first/second bends! How can you expect to find grip and speed and passing opportunities on a track that's slick??

The tractors when grading last night were producing sparks when they made contact with the track on first bend!!! Don't know much about track prep but I'm guessing that's not right??

Grieves`s ride in Ht13 was very clever,he covered every move made by Alden,he was an excellent choice of guest, sadly the same cat be said for Kus.He did have a decent record for Shielfield, and was a big scorer on his previous visit while racing for Redcar, but last night he was very disappointing.

Gater an slick track man IMO.He actually made some good gates last night but then saw the dirt on the track.!

Prices for next weeks meeting with Newcastle will be held to where they were last night, hopefully the promotion will be rewarded to another decent crowd.

Did it look significantly bigger ( the crowd ) to what a Berwick/Monarchs meeting usually attracts ?
