screm
Believe intention is Kus to guest for Barrett, and r/r for Ashworth. There used to be an obscure rule that guests were not permitted for assessed riders unless two assessed riders were missing. Rule has probably disappeared in the mists of time. Not so sure you can use a guest to replace an assessed averaged rider. James Grieves & Filip Sitera guests for Edinburgh.

armadalelass
Fantastic result! Well done Monarchs! We actually got one point more than what we hoped for this weekend. Massive thanks to James Grieves, he's been brilliant.

screm
Fair play to the Monarchs on their win, fewer race winners than the home side but only three zeros meant that they were always well in control and thoroughly deserved their win. They stay well on track for a play-off place, and if they can get their number one back then who knows. Edinburgh took control as early as HT1 and were never headed after that, even if Berwick hit back with their own 5-1 in Ht2.Grieves was an excellent guest, unlike Kus,and the Monarchs no1 was involved in one of the best races in weeks with Seb Alden in Ht13.He was well backed up by the rest of his teamates. To many riders had off nights for Berwick, infact they were pretty much a one man team, that man was Seb Alden, after a duff first ride he was excellent after that,to be fait Dyer was always in there battling but Bellego and Aspegren had poor night,as did Matej Kus who was a hopeless guest.Bit of a fiest tonight, while filling in my programme I never thought Id have to write 3pts next to the name of Jacobsen, but I did tonight, unfortunately that was as good as it got as he was poor for the rest of the night. One bright spot was there was a healthy crowd there tonight, but I know there are plenty who cant wait for this season to end. Nothing to fear from Edinburghs 2 Jimmys [Grieves and Sitera] I wonder what machinery Tully will be riding tonight got 2 bikes plus other stuff stolen on Thursday was riding his third bike last night There isnt an edit in the world of edits that save this post. mc1874
James Grieves was phenomenal tonight. Riding with craft and experience in heat 13 to cover every move a fast seb alden could make. A truly great guest performance and James reaction after heat 15 was great truly showed he was fully at it for the monarchs cause tonight. I questioned James performances earlier in the season but seeing him in full flight tonight made me eat those words top top guest. Monarchs were solid throughout. Helfer got a great paid win in heat 14 and was unlucky in heat 8 when he gated well and race was stopped. Monarchs did well when they didn't hit the front of filling the minor positions. Heats 12-14 was where we turned the screw starting with theo winning heat 12, James holding firm in 13 and mr monarchs bringing it home with marcel in heat 14. Derek was great, brave and solid. For the bandits alden was always fast and even when behind was never out of it, carrying the fight on his own at times. Dyer was solid and aspergen never stopped trying. For me Kus was pathetic if he wasn't in contention after the second bend the toys came out the pram. No back up for the bandits race winners. Too few heat advantages. But happy drive north for me. Well done monarchs. Great performance. Special mention to Andy after week he had had. Solid tonight, true second heat leader tonight.

Saved me a lot of typing. Grieves's showed all his experience to keep Alden behind him in heat 13, rode very hard, and very fairly. It takes a lot to do that to Alden. The Bandit's backup places is where we fell down, and the Capital Monarchs took a well-deserved win. On a plus side for the Bandits, it looks as if the Promotions bold 31% drop in entrance fees paid off with a very good crowd. I spent my £4.50 on a splendid cheesburger, confectionery, and refreshment. Well done to the Monarchs, I didn't see that one coming.

bigeddiechek
We had a great day. Berwick promotion were spot and and marketed meeting well great value offered by them and truly grateful from a fans perspective. Alden winding it up behind James in heat 13 and James covering every move was speedway racing at its very best! I think it's always a great compliment when visiting fans praise our club. Some don't realise how lucky we are to have speedway at Berwick, never mind how much effort is put in to constantly improve the product. I get accused of being a bottom licker on here, but I genuinely enjoy Saturday nights, even when the result isn't what I wanted. It's great when there is a big away support (like tonight), it adds to the atmosphere, and glad to hear you enjoyed it. This is the attitude we need to make sure the sport survives at all clubs. Looking forward to a big away support next week from the Diamonds, who must fancy their chances. But, you just never know with our team this year!
