Berwick Vs. Edinburgh (pl) Saturday Sept 1st, 7.00pm

Sigh.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

To get an AVERAGE you need to contest 4 home, 4 away league matches

To become an ASSET you need to contest 6 home, 6 away league matches

I'll just add that changes to your 1-7 cannot be made after September 12th, unless it is to reintroduce an injured rider while dumping his direct "injury replacement".

Also (the "Paul Bentley rule") if a rider is in your final 1-7 at the end of a season, but not included in your opening 1-7 the following season, you can't later bring him back in!.

So Barrett gets an average for next year but does not become an average.

You are right a little knowledge is a dangerous thing ! ! In the "Paul Bentley rule " you missed off "without MC approval " how do you think Peterborough bought in Norbert Kosciuch mid season ?

Why did Bellego not start the season on his true average .

Good point, didnt he do one meeting at Scunthorpe, and his average changed.

A little bit of knowledge........

He did, scored 3+1 and his average changed to 5.43 !! his 8matches in 2011 was still assessed so it was not his true average as soon as he rode another match he got a true average.

Correct. 5 and 3 in league.

He also rode in a number of KO Cup matches, which is the bone of contention between Glasgow and the BSPA as to his being an asset or not.

Hope the BSPA decide he is a Berwick asset at the end of the season i really like him always tries as at Edinburgh earlier in the season where his racing deserved more points

As Bellego has ridden all season for Berwick it would be weird indeed should the BSPA not to decide that he wont become a Berwick asset. But this is the BSPA,and as we all know anythings possible with that lot,so expect Bellego become an asset of somewhere else.

Bit of rain yesterday evening, but its been dry overnight, and its dry now,bit cloudy but there is brightness in the sky.Forecast for today is good, dry if a bit cloudy.

I think you will find the rule changed this season

6 home & 6 away to attain an average.

To become an asset you must ride 12 times representing your club in a recognised competition (league,KO cup etc.)

Be shocking if they do, given Glasgow found him and brought him over...but wouldnt surprise me if they were shafted the chameleons from Rugby.....time the speedway Rule book was was burned and started all over again, with the words COMMON SENSE to prevail at all times, at the top of each page!! :)

Bellego rode 12 times for Glasgow last season if you include KO Cup

I agree, 5 home & 3 away in the league and 4 times in th K.O.Cup. Probably what caused the confusion at the time, two rules one about the average, 4 home & 4 away in 2011. For asset building 12 times representing your club in a recognised competition, seperate rules.

Still hope David is in the Berwick team next season, doesn't matter who he belongs to, except you may have to pay a loan fee.

To quote this year's rule-book: 'A rider with an assessed average will have a new average upon completing 4 home and 4 away fixtures"

That's regulation 17.4.4

Think Matej Kus guests tonight

Believe intention is Kus to guest for Barrett, and r/r for Ashworth.

There used to be an obscure rule that guests were not permitted for assessed riders unless two assessed riders were missing.

Rule has probably disappeared in the mists of time.
