Chris
Yes we heard that bollocks from Sampford/Silver with Lambert and Bunyan last time. Both were nowhere fit and it's cost ever since as Rye have hardly won a meeting since due to both being nowhere near fit.

Even tough I have been a Len fan for many years, I am beginning to think it's time for a new face at the helm at Rye. I am finding it hard to waste my hard earn't money each week on watching the teams being put together each year, and the track preperation/conditioton seems a lot to be desired. Sorry Len this is one supporter that will not be back any time soon.
JC!
Len will continue to blame injuries ruining the season, the same as always. The way he goes on these days you would think that Rye are the only team that has injuries - when the truth is that they are the only ones that never seem to respond to injuries or poor form, and usually end up with 2 options if it happens - R/R or Ben Morley. Sorry Len this is one supporter that will not be back any time soon. You're one of many that have deserted the club over the past few years. Silver's pre meeting rant at the hecklers who dared to question his judgement last year was the final straw for some. I lost my respect after he named and shamed me in the local rag with half truths and blatant lies. Another cheap jibe when he saw me at Berwick last year. If he packs up and walks out of Rye House the club will die. He owns the lease on the stadium and nobody in their right mind would rent it off him. He'll still have his supporters who'll thank him for bringing the club back in the late 90's after Ronnie Russels disastrous tenure, when in truth it was a small bunch of die hard fans that resurrected the Rockets name. To his credit he put his money where his mouth was and made us one of the Premier Leagues top sides No Rye House fan will forget the fantastic 2005 & 2007 seasons, but that memory has been clouded somewhat by the last few years of mediocrity. Even his staunchest supporters on the forum are beginning to see the light. Edited June 9, 2013 by Shadders

I'm in the same boat as you mate. Been going since '85 when introduced to the sport and have been following them home and away ever since.Stopped going to speedway altogether after they closed in '93, losing interest in speedway completely. Only rediscovered the club again by accident in 2000 when taking my kids for a drive in the country, deciding to show them where daddy used to go on Sunday afternoons. No way do I want the club to fold. If Rye House closed it'd be the occasional Berwick away meeting with the other half and Cardiff GP. Lots of people saying Len has more interest in Kent than Rye these days and in some ways that proves it! Is it coincidence that both sides are struggling? Everyone knows that the crowds at Kent will dwindle quite quickly unless they start winning and I don’t go for all this bull $hit that they are a new team and need to settle down. The presentation at both venues is absolutely dire and you need supporters to pay the bills but the trouble is Len is stuck in the 60’s and won’t take advice from anybody. This Rye team were never going to do well without Garrity at reserve! I’ve gone from never missing a home meeting to only having been twice this year and to be honest I haven’t missed it. At least in previous years you knew that every Saturday there was some form of speedway at Rye. I much prefer the viewing at Rye but have found myself more often than not at Lakeside this year. It only cost £1 extra and they certainly put on a complete show with decent music, rider interviews and well run quick meetings. (Len take note)

Craig Saul does a decent enough job, but he can't be in two places at once. Most clubs have a roving mic man and someone in the box with the heat details etc... The sight of Craig rushing down from the refs box to the pits for a quick interview during an enforced break is a common sight. More penny pinching. Can't wear two hats and do the job properly. I doubt the choice of music would entice any more through the gate, so that's a bit of a red herring. Silver has tried to to change the parade by riding on the front of the truck with the team captains, but that may probably be something to do with him not being able to march in time to "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines" any more due to his advancing years. While i agree about the presentation etc the bottom line is that two things really matter. The racing and a winning team. With Garrity in the team we have both without him we have neither. By the time he returns we will be an embarrassment in the league and the only thing left will be a shot at the KO Cup, never a great competition for us but a Final would be a decent achievement but to do that we need to ditch one of the reserves who at the moment are just not at the races. Rockets
I have mixed feelings about this. You are all absolutely right Len really does need to change his approach to the club including his relationship with the fans the presentation and his inability to be ruthless about team changes. However he has been horribly unlucky the last two years with injuries. Neath/Frampton first meeting last season. JB and SL first meeting this season. Now OA and JG our top two. Not season ending injuries either so do you replace or fill them until they are fit. What is needed is for Len to bring in a younger co promoter with a bit of money who can freshen things up a bit. In the last year of Ronnie Rogues reign I organised a meeting with bouncy castles face painting beauticans BBQ free wineand a change of music etc. It cost me five hundred quid but pulled in an extra 1000 supporters on the day. Maybe a lesson to be learned still?

Guest
Just read on twitter that Rob Mear has left!! Anyone know anymore?? I think you'll see this under discussion elswhere. Rober Mear has indeed called a halt to his racing career and apparently Rye House are seeking the rider replacement facility for the next 28 days. This house link may help you - http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=73805 Edited June 12, 2013 by Guest

iand
I presume we are after R/R for Mear on 7.4 rather than the man he replaced Garrity on 4.79ish. Sort of makes a big difference. How about Roynon would he fit?
