bolly
Now Rob Mear has been rested/replaced from Lakeside team, will he become a more permanent fixture in Rockets team ? Can we accomodate him when Jason G returns ? Will Len be ruthless enough to change existing riders to get Rob in ? Members thoughts ? Could be interesting, but going on historical evidence Len will stay true to the original declared 1-7 and Rob will either be lost to Rockets or the sport completely. mudflaps
have to say I can never recall Uncle Len or John Sampford ever being ruthless when it comes to team building and replacing underperforming team members...... Always stick with the team and encourage them to turn it around..

Shadders
Point taken but come on how many over the last 10 seasons at Rye House? Can't think of any more. I suppose Simon Lambert is the name on everyone's mind, but after snatching him off Stoke it'd be terribly unfair to ditch him now. After the treatment metered out to David Mason at Kent, and the way it was done, nothing would surprise me!
bolly
As Rob Mear comes in on 7.40 and we have about 2.7 to spare. It will have to be one of the main body of riders that makes way, or both reserves and a 3 pointer comes in. Olly will leave us as before with points to spare and weak at number 1 Anders has so much potential to increase his average by a lot Nelson the same as Anders Cant drop Jase G when hes fit and ready to come back Jason Bunyan, would be very harsh to let him go. If I was held a gun point and told to choose I am afraid it would be Jason Bunyan This is all very hypothetical and it may be that Rob is rubbish or has lost the passion for racing or god forbid we may get another injury before Jason G if fit to return. I DONT KNOW
Ben91
Mear is a good stop gap for Garrity, whether he stays any longer is anyone's guess. Rob was a very decent prospect when he came through at Rye originally and regular PL racing again at Rye may get him back on the right track. If it does he can be a force in this league, he was generally a rider we could count on home and away, something which fits with this years side. When Jason Garrity comes back lets hope we have a real headache with 8 riders doing a fantastic job.
hackneyrocket
Interesting to see Robert Mear lastnight, Craig said something about having only 28 Elite meetings, he was getting a bit of track time! Not sure if he was checking out something on his bike. Does anyone remember this ??????
bolly
Yes, Rob has been at all Rockets home fixtures this year. I spoke to him a couple of times and he did his normal reply the same as last year. 'I wont be back and ride in the not so good PL for a sub standard team like the Rockets' or words to that effect Took it with a pinch of salt as you have with most of what people say down the Rye ))

orion
Any Rye Fans know what Average Garity would come back into the side on ? who could he replace .
bolly
Rob Mear replaced at Lakeside by Kevin Doolan, so he can now concentrate on Rye House commitments.
iand
Any Rye Fans know what Average Garity would come back into the side on ? who could he replace . Garrity average is 4.79. Rye total average at moment is 42.11 which means anyone other than Lykke and Lambert could be replaced by Garrity with Bunyan the man in most danger. Might depend on what happens this month with averages. When is Garrity likely to be back and what about Bowen returning?
westhamboy66
No way will Len Silver replace any of the top four when Jason gets back. Robert is a temp replacement plain and simple. Luke Bowen fit to ride around mid July but i be surprised to see him back unless there are any further injuries

bolly
Ok, lets start the look for a new/replacement rider game again as Olly out for 4/6 weeks, Jason G not back for at least a couple of weeks, Simon Lambert still not back to form, Rob Mear not performing, Nelson over trying and not scoring, Kasper not performing under such pressure, Jason B took another knock last night. Adam Roynon Kim Nillson Lewis Bridger Any more names in the pot ?
Shadders
Ok, lets start the look for a new/replacement rider game again as Olly out for 4/6 weeks, I'd say that was a tad optimistic. How long was he out after the similar injury he suffered? Seem to recall it was months Edited June 9, 2013 by Shadders
