MrMungo
Why has Cockle left King's Lynn?
adz_mft
I saw he had a rant on facebook about Lynn EL team cancelling the NL sides fixtures.Said something about a change of scene because of this.Maybe It's to do with this? vog
Mildenhall by a lot. However, the benefit of Cockle is that he can take an R/R ride due to his low average. (R/R can be taken by anyone bar the guest) Stoke massively weakened by replacing a guy who was realistically a 10 point rider with James Cockle. As for a guest, Irving would do nicely. As would Garrity if fit.
Fozzie4388
only Problem is Vog Irving rides for the same team as Birks (Reason Birks isnt riding)
vog
only Problem is Vog Irving rides for the same team as Birks (Reason Birks isnt riding) I forgot that bit So...the choice of guest appears to come down to Charles Wright Ben Morley (Assuming he isn't riding for Rye's PL team) Bekker. That's about it.
MrMungo
Well, the later start time would appear to suggest that Blackbird can make the meeting after the match at Rye, so I see no reason why Morley or Garrity (if fit) would be unable to guest considering they are riding in the same meeting. neil3065
Apparently. both sides tried to book Charles Wright as guest at number one, but Stoke were quicker off the mark and got in first - so Mildenhall are using R/R for Cameron Heeps for this match. That should keep it closer than it otherwise might have been.
PhilK
Wright will prove a good guest for sure Neil, has been impressive on his two visits to West Row this season. Just hope Blackbird is ok following the afternoon meeting, wouldn't want him needing to have seven rides for Leicester then have to race up to West Row for another possible six rides! Even worse if he has a crash or bike problems! Personally would have looked for a guest . That said as shown in our four victories at the end of last season and the 4's victory last night we have riders who go really well at Stoke, so I'd think a lead of 10-12 will be plenty . neil3065
Not sure how many genuine heat leader options were open to the Mildenhall promotion - Morris, Branford or Morley (albeit with a dash up from Rye like Blackbird), perhaps?! Always preferable to use a guest, rather than R/R for your number one, if possible. Particularly, as you say, when you have another heat leader racing earlier in the day, then dashing up to West Row for this meeting. If any of the above riders were available, it would be somewhat naive of the promotion not to use one of them! Let's hope Mildenhall can cover Heeps' absence well enough to get a decent lead to take to Stoke for the second leg. MrMungo
Not a great deal of interest in this match by the looks of it! Despite some rain before and after the meeting, it went ahead & Mildenhall will go to Loomer Road with a 16 point lead. Nasty crashes for Bates (broken arm) and Blackbird (suspected broken wrist at the time but given the lack of info, am guessing it's not broken) took the shine off the meeting. Some excellent reactions from riders. First Andrews fell right in front of Jacobs/Bates, and both did remarkably well to avoid him. Couple heats later Halsey did a 360 coming out bend 2, and this time it was Atkin & Carr who both somehow missed him.
