Wolverhampton 2013

Recommended Posts

Well the rebuilding of Nicolai Klindt rding in the Premier League took a real back step today.

Pride of the Midlands was held at Leicester where 16 riders were in a traditionial 20 heat format. The meeting was on by Richard Lawson after beating Patrick Hougaard in a runoff after both scored 13 points. Henning Bager was third on 12 and Jan Gravesen and Sergei Darkin both got 11.

Lasse Bjerre, Jonas Raun, Ricky Ashworth, Kevin Doolan, Adam Roynon and even Michael Palm Toft (who Nic replaced) all took part ..... Nicolai scored 0 0 E 1 0 = 1 ..... The one point was when Jake Anderson fell !!

Looks like any return to Monmore has more chance of being in a Heathans race jacket !!

How about NO THANKS to Artur or Miskowiak. Both huge liabilities.

Both risks but would you prefer a rider who WILL score 5, or a rider who might score 12 but might score 0? What is more likely to win you the play-offs? If you can get one of them to be in the mood for the play-offs then

surely thats the answer? Wolves currently have a boring sensible, consistent team. Bring someone in who could do anything, you know it makes sense :D Still hoping you sign Miskowiak and he romps off to win heat 12 down at Poole by half a lap to knock Poole out of the play-offs :D

We can get that level of inconsistency from RR as it is!

There is no replacement for Ty (on this years form) plus what we know of deposed King Artur is that he isn't a man for the play offs (just ask Poole!). Also hasn't Miskowiak ruled HIMSELF out of racing in the UK?

We have a team that, man for man has improved hence why we have lead the table and the team to beat.

For me it HAS to be a proven low average replacement (Ljung if we can) or look at the future with Michelsen or Bogdanov as the replacement.

My sense and believe is it will be none of those.

But lose the consistency and boring and sensibility? Nah, thanks, ;)

I was waiting for that comment :D If you're going to make it, and I'm still not sure you will, I want to see you humilated :P Obviously with all these riders wanting to ride for Poole they'll have a full 1-7 by then, right? :o

R/R will struggle in the play offs. Artur ended the season poorly for Poole admtively but he was what, a 4.00 and 19 then? He seems to thrive when not under pressure, (2012 BV). Surely CVS can offer him more than any other team that?!

Ideally Peter Ljung would be our man but I was just thinking out of the box!

Agreed RR is more often than not not a good long term thing, plus as we saw tonight it was hopeless. Still would have 3 points more than Artur!

If we can't get Peter Ljung 5.61 or Mikkel Michelsen 5.00 to sign up for the remainder of the season, then it looks like R/R may be our best option but it would be nice to have a solid 1-7 again and even someone like Daniel Nermark 5.27 could be a match winner if he rides to his true potential.

Shame that Mikkel Bech signed up in the Premier League as he would have been a rider that could have come in and scored like Ty had been doing.

And the replacement for Ty Proctor is.....*tumbleweed drifting* Come on Peter, do tell. You reckoned you wouldn't introduce a new rider against a team like Swindon 2 weeks after saying that you would. Guess the question is would you introduce a new rider against a team like Coventry and if not what qualifications would said team need to have before you would? Or are you just talking utter BS again and have absolutely no intention of doing any such thing?

Get Skornicki below Proctor before the play-offs. Problem solved.

Adam's average is likely to rise when you consider the next few meetings that will be removed from his rolling average are quite low.

Eastbourne have moved to get Mikkel Michelsen for the rest of the season, knowing he wont get a new average this season. However they have a combined average of just 39.28 so they can still add 3.22 to their team and looking for a team spot now is Linus Sundstrom 7.17.

So ..... how about they sign Sundstrom and we sign on loan, Simon Gustafsson 5.28 to replace Ty ?

Simon has had a poor 2013 season but I have always thought he needs a change of track to help bring out the true potential. Riding at #2 alongside Freddie and in a team with Ludvig and Jacob, this could be a move that benefits all parties in the long run.

So now we know. After having listened to Adams's aftermatch interview on WM reading between the lines, unless there's a last minute change of heart, it's RR to the end folks! Whingeing that he's had 2 riders lined up only for them to back out at the last minute and it's not easy. Funny how Fat Maud and now even Dugard find a way isn't it Pete? The telling word in the whole interview was 'affordable' as in 'they've got to be affordable'. So even though we'll be in the play offs with a chance, albeit a small one, of going all the way they revert to type and do it on the cheap. If RR is what it turns out to be they don't deserve the supporters they've got. :icon_smile_clown: s

Was just editing my post above. Chance missed? You ain't kidding.

Didnt hear the interview but typical trying to get the right rider on the cheap when we have a superb chance with the right rider to win the play offs

I will be fuming if Mikkel was one of those who they talked too. As Orion said, we should have walked it if we had him at number 2.

Seems a fairly good chance that Mikkel held talks with Wolves, as he has (allegedly) been approached by every EL team !!
