Ghostwalker
Here we stand or here we fall history won't care at all... We have reached the very most final round of this years Elitserien only a few weeks of playoffs remain of the entire season. The questions are many. Which teams will make it into the playoffs? Which team will miss the play off but avoid possible demotion to Elitserien? Will Vetlanda hang on to first place? Will Piraterna manage to secure second or will Dackarna claim second? Tuesday's meetings (start time c:a 19.10 Swedish time): Indianerna-Hammarby Valsarna-Dackarna Elit Vetlanda-Vargarna Västervik-Piraterna (tv meeting) Current standings: http://www.svemo.se/...en/Serietabell/ Official Streams: http://www.csports.s.../?treeId=160030 (Sweden only) http://www.premiersp.../top/streaming/ (not for Sweden and Poland) Regarding total standings with the same amount of team points. If two teams ends up on the same amount of team points in the total standings. Rider points quota will decide, Quota is calculated by dividing the won points with lost points. The higher quota the better, I don't know how many decimals they count. For Vargarna 549/619 = 0.88691437802907915993537964458805 For Västervik 535/635 = 0.84251968503937007874015748031496 For Valsarna 540/624 = 0.86538461538461538461538461538462 Live scores at: http://www.svemo.se/...renar/Speedway/ race card: http://www.mediafire...625z2dcs67f67yz Lineups Indianerna - Hammarby Indianerna Hans Andersen Antonio Lindbäck Piotr Protasiewicz Rune Holta Niels-Kristian Iversen Simon Gustafsson Mathias Törnblom Hammarby Tomasz Gollob Kamil Brzozowski Dennis Andersson Rory Schlein Magnus Zetterström Sebastian Aldén Christian Agö For Indianerna Iversen is back in team after resting last week. Joonas Kylmäkorpi is still out with injury so Simon G rides as reserve. Hammarby are coming without both Walasek and Miedzinski. I don't know why. Probably lack of funds. As both rode in Poland today. Valsarna-Dackarna Valsarna Grigory Laguta Artem Laguta Krzysztof Buczkowski Tomas Gapinski Daniel Nermark Daniel Gunnestad Krzysztof Kasprzak Dackarna Darcy Ward Patryk Dudek Andreas Jonsson Michael Jepsen Jensen Fredrik Lindgren Victor Palovaara Tai Woffinden Both team brings (judging by the filed lineups) their best team. I think that Valsarna have a very good team. Young Gunnestad though probably won't score that much. I think that Valsarna might have a good chance if Dackarna have a bad day and they got KK at the reserve which could turn out to be very important. Valsarna are currently in last place 2p from 6th. If Valsarna wins and Vargarn looses and Västervik does not manages more then a draw. Valsarna will claim a spot in the play offs. Dackarna comes with their (currently) strongest lineup. Noticeable is that Jonas Davidsson is left outside the team again. He have had a very poor season. I don't know why really. One big contributing factor is that he don't ride that much. With Lejonen's demotion to Div 1, Jonas have had problems with finding enough occasions to ride. I don't know if he rides anything in England or Poland? Elit Vetlanda-Vargarna Elit Vetlanda Martin Vaculik Leon Madsen Emil Sayfutdinov Janusz Kolodziej Jason Crump David Ruud Jacob Thorssell Vargarna Nicki Pedersen Kim Nilsson Bjarne Pedersen Peter Kildemand Peter Karlsson Adam Skornicki Anders Mellgren Goliat vs. David. Unfortunately for Vargarna i cannot see how they can defeat vetlanda at Vetlanda's track. Vetlanda is very very strong at their own track. For Vetlanda David Ruud will make a comeback from injury. Good to see him back in the track. He have had allot of problems with injuries during the years. This also means that Henric Lindqvist don't have a place in the team. PK and especially Nicki will probably do good on this track. If Valsarna and Västervik does not win, Vargarna will be in the playoffs. Västervik - Piraterna (tv meeting) Västervik Jurica Pavlic Tomasz Jedrzejak Chris Harris Mikael Max David Watt Peter Ljung Pontus Aspgren Piraterna Maciej Janowski Przemyslaw Pawlicki Greg Hancock Linus Sundström Chris Holder Anton Rosén Grzegorz Zengota To reach the play offs, Västervik needs a win if Valsarna also wins and they need a loss for Vargarna. For västervik Tomasz Jedrzejak returns into the team and Klindt is out. Edited August 21, 2012 by Ghostwalker

pandorum
Let's hope it's better than yesterday's Polish borefest. Not sure who I want to get the final slot I like Greg Laguta but it would be cool to see Chris Harris involved.
manchesterpaul
Let's not forget the exciting double edge to the televised match* (18:10 BST, 17:10 GMT/UTC) is that Piraterna are fighting to keep their semi-final spot and even hoping to gain the number one seed of being the regular season winner. Pick of which side to face and whether to race first leg at home etc in the play-offs are not small prizes regards to finishing positions in the final table. The 'silly' situation of having the vast majority of teams (75%) qualifying for the play-offs leads to today's situation where for example Västervik and Valsarna can be relegated or qualify for the play-offs! It seems silly but i guess it's driven by economic neccessity for club's survival to have something to race for all season. The play-off system seems to have been imported into all sports worldwide from American pro sports where money is overlord. Whilst undoubtedly it does provide in prolonging competitive action to a season and with it the crowds, i always feel the regular season winners should get a trophy and considerable prize money. That way you get the best of both worlds. Anyways......enough i digress too much lol. Standings 1.Elit Vetlanda 13 26 2.Piraterna 13 24 -------------------------- 3.Dackarna 13 23 4.Hammarby 13 15 5.Indianerna 13 13 6.Vargarna 13 10 -------------------------- 7.Västervik 13 9 -------------------------- 8.Valsarna 13 8 Top two seeded to play-off semi-finals. Places 3-6 play-off quarter finalists. 8th place is relegated. AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Västervik Vs Piraterna Any late changes to the teams will as usual be updated. PS. Thanks to Ghostwalker for an early start to the thread on this crucial last week of the regular season. UPDATE In addition to being live on the Premier Sports tv channel it is also available on their official high quality streaming service. However, i note they now have it tagged 'available in the UK only' which might explain why our overseas friends could not get to purchase previous transmissions. ABS
If you had seen Davidsson at Belle Vue, as I did, and on television from Coventry last night, you'll know why he isn't riding tonight - not to mention his zero point contribution at home to Eastbourne on Friday. krompa
Jonas D in current form is on Premier League reserve level, nothing more.
Ghostwalker
No Gollob for Hammarby. Which means that Indianerna should have a walk in the park against Hammarby.
HasseHolmqvist
Joonas Davidsson used to be a big danger round Monmore Green and a decent rider all round, never a world beater but a important part of any team. Is there a reason why his form has slumped, silencers, lack of investment in machinery ? Shame to see him struggle Looking forward to seeing Mikael Max & Pontus ride ... Max should still be in the Elite League in my opinion
Ghostwalker
Joonas Davidsson used to be a big danger round Monmore Green and a decent rider all round, never a world beater but a important part of any team. Is there a reason why his form has slumped, silencers, lack of investment in machinery ? Shame to see him struggle I don't know, he have always been a bit inconsistent, but this season he seems to be stuck in "first gear". He did reasonably ok last season where he averaged on about 9/meeting so I don't think its a silencer issue. If i would guess, i would say that its "brain ghosts (hjärnspöken)" which means that its in his head and not an outside/bike problem. I remember Rory Schlein when he rode for Smederna. During first season he rode really managing some 8-9p/meeting as a heat leader. but then the next season he was awful hardly scoring anything except as a reserve for some meetings. I do hope that Jonas can get back on track, Swedish speedway cannot afford to loose him into retirement. manchesterpaul
No Gollob for Hammarby. Which means that Indianerna should have a walk in the park against Hammarby. What's the reason for his non-appearance? I was going to keep an eye out on the riders who are participating in this weekend's biggest GP of the season at Cardiff and how hard they ride today in Sweden. In our televised fixture we have Hancock, Holder and Harris. By rights those races should be very tasty indeed, but will they? Incidentally, Ghostwalker do you think they've picked the best meeting to show? I'm quite happy with the choice with what's at stake for both teams. Regarding Gollob, Hammarby is rumoured to be short of funds. Well basically they had two meetings to choose from this or Valsarna-Dackarna. I think both meetings would be worth showing. Good start for Västervik.
manchesterpaul
Hi everyone, Well after "the match of the century" from Brandon last night this had better be good. Alan.
