Who are the 7th team in the 1st semi-final ?

First part of the first final has 7 pairs, and the British pair couple had to act in the first semifinal. It is clear that the fight s first three places in Denmark would be very hard, and one of the strongest couples could not reach the final.

UEM rules published yesterday the second semifinal in Hungary and in it was a British pair...

Can the DMSB actually afford to do this?

In my view they've done the right thing, providing that they would have fully compensated the riders for their appearance in Rivne.

Good question and i don't know the finances involved. But surely as prfessional riders they have to make a living and decide for themselves where they ride and what is best for their career? They are not employed by the DMSB and have probably had little financial help from them in their career. So why should the DMSB ask for entry into competitions that the riders don't want to ride in?We know most riders don't fancy trips to eastern Europe. How many times have we had this discussion here over the years?Ok,normally riders have nothing else that day and just go sick..I doubt for this there was an awful lot to be gained financially,so a meeting at home was probably the best option

Anyway, don't want to fallout before Pardu,so i'll leave it at that :t:

Dont worry, I'm good with falling out with people, I can find a reason.

Anyway, I havent checked but I'm led to believe that if I bought a license from my federation, the small print says that I'm available to represent the federation if they ask. Most never get asked, some are allowed to decline everytime but at times push comes to shove and something like this happens. I bet fridays beer in Pardubice (just for you, not the whole forum), that the fact that a certain German blondie is the head of the track racing in UEM has nothing to do with these bans. He must be really pissed he did not see the best Germany has to offer in Rivne. I bet he thought it was the best place/meeting in the world to be last saturday...

In my view the federation should back their riders with these international events. Over here the federation is semi-actively trying to stop paying for national teams and riders in different competitions. In some cases is justified, but in the end, when they stop paying for everything, we can only ask what the heck are they for? If no team or rider gets compensation, all the federation is doing is milking the riders money through licenses and meeting fees.

Seems looking at the results, that Kevin was allowed to ride, but the others not.maybe goes back a few years when kevin said he wouldn't do any of these meetings after being sent year after year into eastern europe whilst others continually got a home meeting.

Also off topic a bit(ora lot)interesting to see the former wonder boy turned armed robber(allegedly as i haven't seen any proof) is making yet another comeback in the German Championship final on saturday

It might say it, but I doubt taking out a licence implies any sort of contract, and forcing riders to compete would seem unreasonable unless travel costs and potential loss of earnings are covered. Indeed, I suspect none of it would stand up in court if anyone actually challenged it.
