Stoke Make 2 Changes

So, Stoke have made 2 changes then!

Adam Wrathall has been ruled out for the season, and Ross Walter has been dropped.

In their place come Matt Bates on a 4.63 and Liam Rumsey on a 3.

Interesting. Shame for Adam, and I hope Ross isn't lost to the sport, but welcome Matt and Liam!

What's Stoke's obsession with changing their 3 point riders? I've lost count of how many they've had now! And I thought Ross' scores were improving anyway, as you say Vog I hope he sticks at it.

Difficult for Ross. Was riding at the difficult number 4 position, but at times he never looked like beating reserves. Hopefully he sticks at it and gets both confidence and gains a bit more skill over the rest of the season and maybe comes back next year a better rider.

they must be scared off getting turned over at buxton again but we dont have wrighty or branford so it will be close

That's exactly it. Nothing to do with Wrathall being out for the season thanks to a broken wrist.

I agree, done the hard work in the maln body, whilst on a 3point average, now he gets a chance to get a few points, his thanks are to get dropped.

I think most people feel sorry for Ross but whatever position he would of taken would of made no difference as week in week out he pick up points only if other riders had problems. Strangely he had a fantastic race at Scunthorpe and beat some good racers but for me looked way out of his depth. He raced against reserves every week and even on his own track he was not in the running. We all hope he keeps at it and comes back for someone and shows everybody that he is capable of racing a bike.

I just wanted to say thanks to malcolm and the people at stoke for giving me the opportunity to ride for them in the national league.

I found it very difficult at number 4 with lack of confidence and experience i was looking forward to riding back in the reserve spot to improve my riding and to grow in confidence again.

Being without a team i am a free agent and looking for a team place.

I wish the stoke lads well in the closing part of the season.

Thanks

Nice to see a rider not being bitter and airing it out in public!

Stick with it Ross. You were always going to be like a lamb to slaughter riding at number 4. You showed flashes of talent (Heat 13 at Scunthorpe is a prime example!) and just needed to work on consistency. I hope you aren't lost to the sport. Hopefully the experience of what is expected at NL level will allow you to focus on improving and, if not this season, getting a place next season at reserve.

Also, I can only apologise for trying to get the nickname "The Ross-o-tron" to stick ;) I'm all for the obscure Friends references.

Will they have to make a 3rd now Simon Lambert is back in the Premier League?

Who has he signed for?

EDIT: Just seen buried away in a topic that he has signed for Rye House, so I guess we will need a new signing.

No Stoke won't be making a new signing

taken off the Stoke website

STOKE Easy Rider Potters are delighted to announce that Simon Lambert will remain at the club after deliberations between Rye House and the speedway authorities have confirmed that Simon is not eligible to double up.

Given the situation Simon Lambert has opted to remain with the club for the remainder of the season something which Simon had always maintained would always be the case in such circumstances.

Stoke team manager Malcolm Vasey said “Simon has proven to be a man of integrity. He promised me at the outset of his current arrangement with Stoke that he would remain with the club until the end of the season. Despite offers from elsewhere Simon has remained resolute that he would continue as a Potter. I admire his resilience and honesty which is a rare quality these days.”

Simon will ride at Buxton in the new look Stoke septet which faces the Hitmen in the National Trophy on Sunday.

I see Richard Andrews has signed for Stoke now replacing Adam, What happened to Matt Bates?

Heathen1984 is right, from what I was told Matt had a practice spin at Somerset, and it didn't go well for him. So we have signed Richard in his place.

More worrying for us is both Ben Reade's injury, and the departure of Simon Lambert.
