greyhoundp
Another crucial meeting for both Teams at Monmore Wood, i take The Heathens to win by 10 points or more, I understand Dan Greenwood is unavailable and The Heathens will operate RR for him, Tom Perry moves down to reserve due to a quirck in the system, now wether or not that makes The Heathens even more stronger is debatable . I think i am correct in saying a win in this meeting will clinch The Heathens 1st objective of a play off place. morganbike
Dan is away on holiday and will also miss Isle of White. Hopefully the Turkish weather will help heal the battering he got in heat 2 at Monmore last week and he returns fighting fit for the Mildenhall away match. It might be worthwhile The Heathens using a 3 pointer at the IOW, if there is an interesting young rider available, and wants the rides, or is that not covered in the rules, i say this not as any disrespect to IOW, but someone such as Dans namesake who rides for Scunny. You couldn't use Oli Greenwood You can use a 3 pointer who isn't declared in a team, but not a 3 pointer who is. Jack Kingston would be a good shout, for example. If not, run R/R, Tom Perry could take 3 of the rides anyway!

Yes i realise we can use RR Vog, but with a healthy 30+ point lead from the first leg, why not give a youngster some valuable Track time ? its a KO Cup second leg Vog. Where as against Your Potters Team it is valuable league points that are at stake.

As for the second leg, as I said, Jack Kingston? Young lad, just signed a contract with Lakeside to be their asset, could use the track time. Looked tidy enough against you for us! greyhoundp
Jack Kingston, yes he did not disgrace himself against the Heathens, was speaking to his dad by the pits at Stoke, I said to his dad, he finished every race, and picked up a point or two, despite having Carburetor problems. SpeedwayTShirts
Bad Timing for Heathens Fans I know, but Erik Gundersen is on the Speedway Show this Tuesday Night between 8 and 10pm on BIKERfm. greyhoundp
Were Stoke to win this one, it would make for a very interesting run in, what with The Heathens having yet to ride, Mildy home and away. As i said previously it seems the top four are almost decided, just remains who will have first pick in the play offs.

As i said previously it seems the top four are almost decided, just remains who will have first pick in the play offs. Let's face it, who will want to pick us? Whoever finishes top will pick whoever finishes fourth, as with respect, I think there are 3 teams, once again, head and shoulders above the rest. Whoever finishes top will pick IoW (Both Dudley and Stoke already have big aggregate victories over them) and whoever is left faces each other. Final will, most probably, be whoever finishes top against one of Mildenhall and Stoke...and they could be some fantastic meetings.

Halifaxtiger
At £10 entry, Dudley must be one of the best value speedway tracks in the country. This was a very entertaining meeting with several cracking races (usually involving young Mr Perry) and I have to say that having an interval aside the presentation is very good as well. I am wondering just how Stoke managed to built Mildenhall. Back in two weeks.

Fourentee
Good meeting. Congratulations to Dudley on a fine performance. Commiserations to Stoke who battled away throughout and particularly to Ben Reade, who went shoulder to shoulder on the inside with Tom Perry in heat 12, gave him a racing line throughout and was finally passed only to be ambushed on the final corner by Byron Bekker as well, thus completing one of the finest and fairest efforts for the least reward that I have seen in some time.
greyhoundp
All in all a good nights racing, and i think fair to say, it could have been a few more points for The Heathens, JWW falling needlessly when in an untroubled second place, Ash Morris falling impetuously when in second and challenging, Tom dropping a point with suspension trouble. Besides that Stoke fought to the end, led by Ashley Birks and Simon Lambert, and backed up by Ben Reade, Tony Aitkin & Adam Wrathall were dissapointing, but Adam never seems to go well at Monmore, Race of the night was undoubtably Ht 12, plaudits to Ben, Tom and Byron for that, worth the admission money alone. Well done to ALL the riders, specially to the Heathens who notched up another important home win, in front of a bigger than normal crowd, including a few from Edinburgh we were told, and now as we aproach the business end of the season, but may i remind the riders and supporters of 2 seasons ago, we topped the table but won NOWT, this time we can go one better. 21st century heathen
Cracking performance again. We can point to a few things such as though mentioned above where a few points slipped away, but Stoke could point to a few subdued performances. All-in-all the few points we let slip are cancelled out really by Birks and Lambert not winning as many heats as you would usually expect. Heat 1 by Perry was a cracking race under somewhat tricky circumstances. How he managed to mentally block out the broken suspension and go wheel-to-wheel with Lambert I'll never know. Heat 12 was a race of the night though. Full credit to all three riders for the part they played. Fingers crossed we can keep everyone fit and healthy to the end of the season with a minimal number of dates clashing with other commitments. greyhoundp
21st, just one point, you say Birks and Lambert not winning the points that they usually do, i think its fair to say, they dont always come up against Royno,Perry,Bekker and Co, and away from home at that, i can only recall one race where they dropped points, that was when Ashley Birks fell, on the other occasions they were beat fair and square. Yes everything is looking good, and all being well, fixture clashes and injuries permitting, an exciting end of season is looming.
21st century heathen
Their scores were not an unfair reflection of the way the night went, but before the meeting I would have had them down for more than one race win each. I should have included Reade too, because he had a sluggish start. Lambert is up their with Roynon at this level. He's been a PL second string, and a very useful one at that, in the past. Birks has been in cracking form lately and rode well at Monmore just a week ago against strong opposition. Reade may not be in quite the same form as Perry but he's having a superb season (doing what I expected of him last season) and has been banging big scores pretty much everywhere. The fact that the bottom end for Stoke is much weaker than ours meant that keeping these three relatively in check was the reason we ran out such comfortable winners.
