lucifer sam
While I am an avid Wolves fan and pleased to have witnessed Tai turn into the teams #1 rider, I have no doubt that he will struggle to get in the top 8 next season and quite frankly even the top ten. I will however defend him when people think he will be out of his depth. To me he has he same abilites of Zagar, Iversen and Vaculik ...... and on current form also Lindgren and Jonsson and although he may have some rounds where he scores low, he will also have some decent scores. .... Could he win a GP ? Yes ....... 7 or 8 points followed by a second place in the semi's and then one amazing ride in the final ..... as MJJ proved !! You are truly delusional if you think Woffinden will win a Grand Prix next year. MJJ has already won one, and how on earth he can be overlooked in favour of Woffinden is beyond me. Well, actually I do know why, but the logic is completely flawed. Why would anyone in this country be more likely to watch a GP if Tai Woffinden is in it rather than MJJ? All the best Rob As expected then! Yup. Still doesn't change it from being a cr*p decision though. Daniel Smith
So, not British riders in the series for the first time. Just shows the decline of speedway in the UK.
JT
OK Phil, I don't want to tell you how to do your job, but as you're in the privileged position of being able to ask the organisers directly, why they have nominated certain riders, could you do us one favour? It seems inevitable Tai Woffinden will get a pick next Wednesday and in light of the discussions on this thread, surely the most pertinent question is, why? Obviously at first BSI will feed you the press release, which will probably ramble on about his injury during the original qualifying meeting and his top scoring performance in the World Cup race off, but these 'achievements' pale in comparison to Jepsen Jensen's Grand Prix win, World Cup victory and likely World U21 Gold Medal. What I, and surely many others, want to ask BSI is; What has Tai Woffinden done in 2012 to warrant a Grand Prix place over Michael Jepsen Jensen? A simple question, but an important one. Maybe you could even ask Tai himself... Kind Regards, JT. PS. Apologies if this question (and a subsequent article on the British reliance on wildcards?) is in the pipeline already. WHEN I know who they are will ask the questions ... I look forward to their response, Phil. BSI's press release highlighting his World Cup performance and 'solid scores' in the league is predictable, but frankly pathetic when you compare his achievements to MJJ. So another year, yet another piece of charity for British riders. Other than the comical Woffinden selection, this is probably the strongest line up ever. JT. deadmau5
The sarcastic he's not a Brit comment... Getting boring now to be honest. As for MJJ, he may have won a GP but he scored a huge 0 in the GP Challenge. I also love how most people have not even considered the fact he may have refused an invite - like Ward last year... Tai is in, he WILL have the British flag on his chest - that's enough for me. Good luck to him! He can't be any worse than Chris, and to be fair, he has been solid all year despite injury. Hunty
So, not British riders in the series for the first time. Just shows the decline of speedway in the UK. What more can he do? Hes rides for Britain in the SWC he was our best performer this year! Hes British...he can never change that now (even though he may want to)! He made that choice and he has to stick with it and we should support him!

deadmau5
How much did Tai score in the GP challenge? Hunty
How much did Tai score in the GP challenge? All the best Rob People will say there is no British rider good enough so theres no point having one in the series! The FIM will always put a Brit in because we plow the most money into the series, and if you were going to choose a British rider for next year in my honest opinion Tai was the only option! He was the only rider in the SWC who looked like he could even keep up with the big boys! Harris will never recapture the form of 2010 when he came 6th, Nicholls is not going to do much more than Harris would! Tai is 22 and know what the GP's are all about after one of the weridest wildcard choices in 2010!

spin king
How much did Tai score in the GP challenge? All the best Rob Not question that can be answered because Tai was injured and could not take his place in the Challenge. In saying that I think that MJJ can count himself unlucky not to have got the spot over Tai. Looks like the organisers have decided to go with a British Wildcard and of a ll the British riders out there Tai is the most consistently the best of the lot. But Tai has been in the Grand Prix before he knows what it is about now, and I think he could do better than people give him credit, I don't think he can crack the top 8, but generally you can sit down at the start and work out around 5 or 6 riders that are not going to be in the top 8. deadmau5
Oh yes he can... Unlikely, for a start Tai can gate. Plus he'll be powered up by PJR.
Dave_minall
Considering how strong the GP will be next year, it would be a HUGE achievement for Tai to get a top 8 position. By my reckoning, half of the field could win the world title. Edited October 17, 2012 by Dave_Minall
MARK246
So Harris can earn a bit more from the GP's, selling his well used book of excuses to the next loser " Brit " to be gifted a spot in the circus. Welcome to the new clown wobbly Woffinden.
mouncers monkeymask
if MJJ had done well in the gp qualifier he wouldnt have had to worry about getting a wildcard , fact is he scored 5 zero's and didn't qualify
remembertheracers
There are NO British riders worthy of a regular spot right now. Possibly Jepsen Jensen was sounded out and preferred to wait - itsexpensive to ride the GP's unless you are among the Elite top few.. Dave_minall
Surely this also means we'll have to find a replacement for Bomber in the world cup?
Gbk
Y on earth would u need to find a replacement for Chris Harris in the World Cup team? I think he more than proved his worth in the World Cup series this year. All the harsh comments Chris is getting on here seems uncalled for... Yes he could certainly of performed better, but he is by far the best British rider we have, I just wish he could bring his elite league performances to the GP series. I do think a year out though won't do him any harm, I think he needs to get his head together and sort out his equipment so he doesn't have that to bring him down, so maybe he could stop spending money on new cars and bring jimself back down to earth a bit, and spend it on his source of income to ensure he has a future next year in the GP. Which I do think he could win back, I do feel us as Brits find it so easy to kick someone when they're down, mayb we should ease off on all the hating and offer support to encourage people. Obviously reading this u can see I do support Chris, on his day he can b one of the best in the world and some of the risky moves he pulls off are incredible- just needs to b a little more consistent. I do fear however tai may get swallowed up next yr in GP, he seems like a nice lad but I think needs a bit more experience first. I agree with some comments if they hasn't of put in a Brit, would Cardiff b so packed? I doubt it!
Gearhead
How M.J.Jensen has been overlooked is beyond me,personally I think he's a phenomenal talent,he's more than capable of doing damage in the GP series, and he was seriously fast in the SWC to add to his resume too,Woffinden unbelievably now get's a second chance without actually qualifying, Am I right in thinking that's now 5 Monster "Athletes" in the series??
