shad176
jeering the fans of the opposition, screaming who are ya at kids, and ridiculing someone who is being friendly to you, just because they are not a Heathen fan. . care to elaborate on this ??? shad176
To applaud every race winner is ridiculous? It's what I do. So I am sorry villiers I come under your ridiculous type. I did not use football as an example as I packed in watching our local team quite a few years ago as I did exactly what you say at the Brit and applauded Middlesbrough scoring as it was a fantastic goal. The reaction from the "fans" was one of kill!!. I too support Stoke through and through but it's the sport that I support more. I do realize that my type of support is a dying one but It's the way I have watched sport for over 60 years and the way i was brought up and i don't expect i will change now. I have better ways of having a laugh. I was not saying anything about "our" supporters are better than other supporters; all I was saying was that, I enjoyed the banter between the supporters of the teams i mentioned than those that are around today. What has the time that Ellesmere been shut to do with anything? I would expect Heathen fans more than any other to have some thoughts for the Gunners supporters. I have watched speedway since 1976 and sport for a lot longer and you want me to tootle off and leave speedway? A sport that is crying out for supporters and you want me to leave? That would help. You are miles off with the comment about not taking to NL racing. It's the best racing I've seen for years; unfortunately a lot of Stoke supporters do not feel the same and do not go anymore and if Stoke ever decide to go back to premier then I'm not sure they would come back. I take it you do not like rugby then? Pity as you are missing probably the best sport there is and the best supporters there are about. Speedway as a whole has less supporters now than I can ever remember and to tell someone to tootle off really does not help our cause to get more to come and keep it going, for all their support if there are no other teams then Dudley go too. 1 what do you call banter????. 2 the dudley drone of self importance...sarcastic comment in reference to a light hearted comment from a fan of another club., 3 i and quite a few others have signed the ellesmere port petition..what more can i do ??..you like rugby...i follow the nfl . a bit of shouting a t a speedway meeting is and always has gone on..harmless stuff some people are just too serious, sadly the days when tracks were packed with thousands have gone..can you imagine what would have been said if the internet had been around then so people could spew out what they wanted...nowadays things fester for days..even weeks...sad really.............and i never said give up speedway either Edited July 23, 2012 by wembley81
villiers210
This is just totally ridiculous now. I was one of about 8 people who were shouting "who are you". It was aimed at nobody in particular, and just the home team in general. It was nothing more than banter. To say it was aimed at children is a total fabrication of the truth. The plain fact of the matter is that we are just loud and you don't like it. I'm not going to apologise for that. As the great man of speedway once said "We'll do you a deal. You stop telling lies about us, and we'll stop telling the truth about you".
greyhoundp
I may suggest villiers you will have to tell some, who the great man is but some of his quotes stay forever in the mind, a bit like the "You Wine and Dine him, and WE will sign him" quote, forever in the History of The Heathens. britmet
The banter between Stoke and Cradley goes back to the 1940s. Look what they did to our star rider in the days of Reg Fearman and Tyburn Gallows ! Edited July 23, 2012 by britmet
teddy2706
They may be noisy, they can be rude, but they are usually there supporting their team. Dudley fans (unless very upset by someone at Stoke) travel all over the country and give their support wholeheartedly. I support Stoke (it wears thin sometimes though) and following Stoke away can be heartbreaking because of their lack of travelling support, sometimes home support too. As an ex. Long Eaton and Cradley supporter, I will say this, visiting Loomer as a Long Eaton fan was far more intimidating than anything I have ever seen at any other track anywhere in the country. The Loomer faithfuls in the eighties were unbelievably partisan, far worse than I have ever witnessed Cradley/Dudley fans behave. But they do speak English at Stoke.....
