Bomo1
What a race by kennett to confortably beat ward. Get in there eddie In that race, Ward let Eddie go as it was more a battle between Ward and Barker!!! I can't think why??!! Otherwise, Kennett looked woefully off the pace. while Ward was totally on it!! Not a bad meeting really and some reasonable performances by some of the 'lesser lights'. ps. One final piece of hilarity - on the victory parade, Batchelor's air suit blew up!!

I think Darcy had an issue with Barker almost fencing him and kept slowing hoping he was going to get a chance to return the favour, he would have been better off chasing afyer Kennett, he would probably have beat him. tocha
Bit of a shame as meetings like this are designed with him in mind. But that probably explains why we are so poor and it's not all down to Woffy's attitude. At least we will give a few young guns a chance to show what they can do. Woffy's loss is someone like Cook's gain. I have to say that Woofy appears to have a very low pain threshhold. I noticed this as long ago as when he was riding for Rye House. It seemed like he didn't have to do much more than stub his toe to withdraw from a meeting. In other words, a very talented rider but a bit of a wimp otrherwise! In the end, what we need is a ride of Tai's class but Robert's (Mear) toughness.
Mark
I have to say that Woofy appears to have a very low pain threshhold. a very talented rider but a bit of a wimp otrherwise! Rubbish as the lad rode on with injury on plenty of occasions. He had his shoulder pop out just a week ago and carried on. Ive sympathy for him missing tonight as the meeting was pointless in many ways. It was only a friendly match, to fill a void in Poole's calendar, so its no big issue he sat it out. richiej95
Woffy a bit of a wimp?! The same Tai Woffinden who popped his shoulder out then rode in the rerun 3 mins later?! The same Tai Woffinden who rode and won 2 rides after breaking his scaphoid in the Gary Petersen Memorial Trophy?! The same Tai Woffinden that his ridden with pain-killing injections to cover up injuries on numerous occasions?! You get the idea

Good result for the Brits away from home. Glad younger riders got a chance although not under the best circumstances with Danny and Lewis. richiej95
If he wanted to ride for Australia I am pretty sure he would ride for them? He is a better rider than Davey Watt or Troy Batchelor, so surely he would choose to ride for them if he wanted to? And that is a completely different point to the one I was discussing in my post. Trees
I think we should take Tai's non inclusion in the GB team another way, a positive way, it allowed others to have their chance to race Certainly Craig Cook grabbed his with both hands and good on him
pandorum
I am sure Middlo learned a LOT from last night. Such as the fact that we are so far behind the rest of the top nations that our chances of winning the SWC in the next 10 years are probably less than zero. Good chance for the newcomers to shine but only Cook did about OK. But he did better than some of our so called top men. It would be a useful exercise if it was followed up by further matches here and abroad but it won't so anything gained by it will soon be squandered. Woffy is no wimp but it shows how far we have fallen when our top prospect deems the one and only 'Test match' for Team GB in 2012 to be less valuable than an outing in Sweden. I don't blame him as such as Sweden is a good earner for him whilst last night probably wasn't and he is carrying an injury. But it is disappointing all the same. Trees
Someone has said on the other thread that maybe Middlo should have let Tai know what he thought instead of the world, I think I agree with that!!

Dornier
why no Simon Stead ? does Middlo not like him Probably Jet Skiing. Or maybe he was at the local Tatooist. ( more important than team GB. ) Edited August 2, 2012 by dornier

His heart just isn't in GB. I'd respect him more if he was honest about it. Just look at the Olympics to see what representing your country is all about.

SCB
why no Simon Stead ? does Middlo not like him Or for once Middlos rating of a rider is spot on. Simon Stead is not and never will be the answer for Team GB.
wjm
So, now that its all done and dusted are people maybe starting to realise that Woffinden not racing didn’t really make any difference to anything? A few on the BSF seem to have a habit of manufacturing personalities and characters for riders, none more so than Harris and Woffinden. Woffinden, the seemingly kicking on 30 year old veteran who is never going to make it, and wants to race for Australia (despite choosing Team GB) and concentrate on the sport rather than chucking money at other hobbies.
