The White Knight
Nicholls is finished. Why he is in the team is beyond my brain's functioning capability. Have you got one? Genuine question,
uk_martin
Nice bit of promotion by Matt Ford, should fill the stadium with locals, better than a meaningless challenge or pairs even if it won't attract many from afar. Is it a genuine inscribed Test Match or a "Test Match"? Pretty much my thoughts too...Also, is this a Poole promoted event or is it a BSPA Shared event? If the former, then what right has any one promoter to use the term "test match"? If the latter, why are the BSPA keeping the fixture so far away from the rest of the speedway public for two years running? Surely people of Manchester, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry are entitled to see "international speedway" too? In fact why restrict it to EL tracks only? Why not run the meeting at somewhere like Sheffield as well?
mdmc82
i thought the same. if you want to do a test match and claim gb have an advantage as on home soil then dont do it at the home of the aussie riders - poole. if roynon does come in that means the team will have 4 coventry riders and 1 ex cov rider so simple where it should have been held for any advantage. birmingham also being a track the riders usually go well on. or use pl track to make it fair to all riders Edited July 30, 2012 by mdmc82
JCookie
I would have it at Buxton.
Bomo1
Maybe no other promoters wanted to take the risk!!??. As Poole Season ticket holders can use their passes, I guess its MF not the BSPA that are promoting it. And why not call it a 'Test Match'? rather than a 'friendly' or something similar, if it gets more people through the turnstyles. Although I guess now that Holder is unlikely to ride, it becomes a less attractive fixture for the locals.
uk_martin
And why not call it a 'Test Match'? Because aren't test matches supposed to be "official", and between the representitive teams of nations, rather than (to use another term) "A Great Britain VII" v "An Australian VII" that a promoter decides to line up against each other? If any Tom, Dick and Harry can organise their bunch of random Brits to go up against a bunch of available Aussies, and call it a "test match" then that devalues what the term is supposed to represent. Just my opinion of course...
petes
Chris Holder has withdrawn, replaced by Tai Proctor. A very wise decision, hopefully Chris will at least take the whole week off (not sure what other fixtures he has scheduled). Bagpuss
So Roynon for Woffy, Cook for Bridger and presumably Auty for King if he doesn't make it? Obviously best wishes to the three injured lads but good to see these three youngsters getting their chance.
Trees
I thought it was just a randomly arranged meeting by Matt Ford. A meeting between Aus and England of any sort is special though, PRIDE at stake GOOD LUCK to our boys!!!!
A ORLOV
I think you are correct trees, it is a pity that a couple more could not have been arranged, but due to rain offs and riding schedules a one off is understandable. Have always enjoyed meetings between nations, official or not.

Tai Woffenden cannot ride tomorrow at Poole as he is injured yet there is another Tai Woffinden racing tonight in Sweden who does not look injured. are there two TW?

screm
How much are Woffinden's Swedish team paying him? How much are Team GB paying him? Surely the glory of riding for your country should mean more than money.
Fozzie4388
Its only a challenge International as well dont forget, I'm sure if it was anything Offical Tai would be riding as would Holder for the Aussies.
BigFatDave
That is precisely why the Riders that you mention should have been picked. The eventual Result of this Meeting is matterless, apart from bragging rights. ...and precisely where would us Aussies & youse Poms be without Bragging Rights?
