stevebrum
If the weather is great it could be a no brainer. and, like you say Steve - its an ENGLAND team - as it should be all along
Starman2006
great idea. But id rather they concentrate fitting in league fixtures than filling in with meeting like this. Whilst the Aussies will be obvious bet Kurtz and davies get a run out at reserve. Hardly makes it world class if so. Otherway round Steve. I think Neil should give a couple of our lesser lights a run out!! You really do come across as a sad git. The place will be packed out. Hope you don't bother to come. Steve Shovlar
It is Team GB!! it was good enough for you lot when Andy Murray got to the final of Wimbledon Not for me. He is a jock and an extremely dull and dour one at that. He would never get my support after his comments a while back about England. Cheered Federer all the way. Steve Shovlar
Quelle surprise!! Steve Shovlar being controversial Not controversial at all. I reckon I speak for millions of Englishmen. Nothing wrong with Murray being a Scot, but to say "anyone but England", was enough to alienate himself from many English, and his demeanor is dull as dishwater. One of the most boring sportsmen in the UK.

One of the most boring sportsmen in the UK. Apologies - I didn't realise you were the mouthpiece for millions. Have to say, there seemed to be a lot of Brits cheering him on on Sunday both inside and outside! Anyway - back to the speedway - its Team GB!

Blazeaway
I made it very clear my post was NOT, I repeat NOT, anti Poole. I've no problem with Poole at all. I want GB to win and Poole is the last track I'd face them on. Their No 1 and 2 ride there, unless Crump turns up, which is without dispute. Poole are probably putting on the match as they know it will sell because of Holder / Ward. But what is the point of having a home Test without any home advantage. We are all allowed an opinion and that's mine. I don't suppose there were too many other tracks rushing to offer their services.
YerRopes
Have to agree with most of what Mr Shovlar says here.. I just wish there was the time and good enough weather to have a 5 match series, too much of a fixture backlog for that to even be considered though. Anyway well done to Poole for arranging this, it will no doubt bring the punters in and as mentioned many newbies will be in attendance too. Also agree - it should also be England Vs Australia (not the ridiculous Team GB crap) As for that sad loser Mr Murray - only one person I know wanted him to beat Federer and he's Welsh... Having said all this - the Euro League does remain a bit of a joke as the EL teams (even Poole) cannot compete with the top Polish and Swedish clubs
Sky Blue Bee
Great promotion for Poole will attrack a big crowd but Holder Ward Watt Batch Schlein Crump and possibly Masters will destroy team GB as most are ex Poole riders well done Middlo on boosting your team again ! Time to go.

I have absolutely nothing against Scottish people at all. But an awful lot of them have this "anyone but England" chip on their shoulders and Murray is one of them. He would never get my support. Anyway back on topic and Come on England, lets beat those convicts on the first of August like we did last time!
Bomo1
I think I'm right in saying that Promoters have to pay a fee (to the BSPA?) to stage a Test Match, ie. they have to bid for it - assuming other tracks were interested?!" The meeting then becomes a BSPA 'shared event', with all proceeds, after covering all stadium costs, going to the BSPA rather than the promoting club. So well done Matt Ford. Pirate Nick
“Whatever the outcome, the idea of a GB-Australia Test at Wimborne Road is a mouthwatering prospect. “Once again, I am truly honoured to be staging this Test and it promises to be a great meeting between two immensely proud speedway nations. “Unlike the World Cup format, the Test will revert to seven-man sides and true team racing. “Last Monday at King’s Lynn we witnessed some of the most exciting speedway this season between the likes of Chris Harris and Chris Holder. "The fact these two will again be going head to head and on a Poole track which they both admit is among their favourites, really does whet the appetite. “The meeting is designed for August 1 as it runs right into the school summer holidays. I am hoping it captures the imagination and that fans, neutrals and brand new supporters will come out to watch a Test match like this of the highest quality. “Obviously it would even better if either country wins the World Cup in the next three days!” Poole team boss and GB manager Neil Middleditch added: “Great Britain and Australia Tests are legendary in sport and they remain, in my opinion, the most prestigious in speedway. “I’m so pleased to see that it will be taking place at Wimborne Road, too, one of the great tracks for racing in this country. sorry to say this is waste of time! how fixtures are going we mite not fit them all in. and if the weather keep on going as it is they may be more fixtures. Matt Ford is a joke the bloke is waste of time he wanted euro league as well this year. Matt is promoting again. What is your motley crew doing to get the crowds in this year? It is Team GB!! it was good enough for you lot when Andy Murray got to the final of Wimbledon Andy Murray is British until he gets knocked out then he reverts to being Scottish
gaptooth
No he's always Scottish because it's clear he'll get knocked out. Interesting Steve that you refer to your precious teapot twins as convicts, I thought at least one of them was found not guilty.
