Villain
So, now that its all done and dusted are people maybe starting to realise that Woffinden not racing didn’t really make any difference to anything? A few on the BSF seem to have a habit of manufacturing personalities and characters for riders, none more so than Harris and Woffinden. Woffinden, the seemingly kicking on 30 year old veteran who is never going to make it, and wants to race for Australia (despite choosing Team GB) and concentrate on the sport rather than chucking money at other hobbies. Perhaps everyone is just looking for reasons as to why we are so sh1te. I know there are exceptions but the general image I get of the British scene is that we are in no way as dedicated or professional as the Aussies, Danes, Swedes or Poles. (soon be able to add the Russians to that list). Edited August 3, 2012 by crazy jack

The reasons don’t rest with two individuals, both of whom have done well with their talents thus far in their career, both performed well enough at the World Cup, it isn’t Harris and Woffinden that are letting British Speedway down, they are doing more than most for it.

stratton
Or for once Middlos rating of a rider is spot on. Simon Stead is not and never will be the answer for Team GB. I would trust MIddlos opinion over yours any day of the week! even thou I am a Stead fan.
The White Knight
I really rate Middlo as England Team Manager - I think he does the best he can with what he has available.
Bomo1
Nice report and write-up in the Speedway Star about the International Test Match together with Mark Lemon's comments about how good it was to win back the Ashes!! Not bad for an 'unofficial fixture filler'!!!!

Not bad for an 'unofficial fixture filler'!!!! Why is GB vs Australia for the Ashes? I can only assume that the Aussies call them that as it has been so long since they've held the actual Ashes.
