Jacques
I wasn't getting at stevebrum but didn't notice any wink smiley on Steve Shovlar or scottyfan's posts I did notice you've changed your avatar from the union flag to the English one It's changed again, just for Saturday though..
seedef27
Not controversial at all. I reckon I speak for millions of Englishmen. Nothing wrong with Murray being a Scot, but to say "anyone but England", was enough to alienate himself from many English, and his demeanor is dull as dishwater. One of the most boring sportsmen in the UK. You weren't the journalist who got this remark from Murray by any chance were you Steve? just you appear to have put the same little spin that he did at the time. I have a feeling you know the reason Murray said ABE and the manner in which it was said.. But hey never let the truth get in the way of a good spin (winks with invisible emoticon as i appear to have none now lol)

mdmc82
think bit of a disadvantage having it at poole when 3 of the aussie team have or do still ride for them
Bomo1
think bit of a disadvantage having it at poole when 3 of the aussie team have or do still ride for them Well its not as if 3 of the senior Brits have been performing that well on their own home track, is it?! A ORLOV
Well done Matt, pity it is not part of a series but with the GPs and the number of rain offs I can understand why it is a one off. The test matches in the past were brilliant and are sadly missed.
Trees
Oh come off it, Holder and Ward excel at most tracks so it doesn't matter if it's in Poole or where, the worst thing about it being in Poole is it's bloody 6 hours drive away from me Come on Buster, can we have one

The White Knight
Well - I am certainly not a great Supporter of Matt Ford. I do not agree with a number of the things that he has done. However - it must be remembered that Mr. Ford is first and foremost a Speedway Promotor, he is there to Promote Speedway. He has seen a chance to put on a big Meeting, a Test Match between England and Australia and has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He is a Businessman and he knows that putting on a Meeting like this will pull in Supporters from all over the Country. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who rides for each Team - it is ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA - that is always a battle. Mr. Ford is doing what a lot of other Promotors should be doing - Promoting his Track/Business. More strength to his elbow. What we need is more Promotors to follow his example in this particular instance. What we should not be doing is criticising Mr. Ford for doing his job, and in this case, doing it well.
iris123
Poole team boss and GB manager Neil Middleditch added: “Great Britain and Australia Tests are legendary in sport and they remain, in my opinion, the most prestigious in speedway. Well Middlo is talking crap here....how on earth are Great Britain and Australia Tests legendary????It is England and Australia Tests that are prestigious, both in speedway and other sports. There is a long tradition of England v Australia....what sort of tradition is there with GB v Australia? Not one i have noticed
Woz01
I would have come to this but i have Olympic footy tickets for that day. Well done Matt Ford for putting this match on, should be a cracker!

Mark
Although I still think it's barmy to take on the Aussies at Poole I have to agree it's a good promotional move by the Poole management. They will no doubt make a few pounds and have a good nights racing.

keef
Should be interesting...obviously England would have had more of an advantage at Brandon, with Harris Nicholls Kennett Roynon. The Aussies with Holder Ward Watt Bratch Doylo will be favourites at Poole, but anything can happen as England won last time there. Woffy King Auty Bridger Barker Worrall(if fit) and hopefully Steady will be in the squad with the Cov quartet.
Pirate Nick
Rumour has it this is the Aussie team: 1: Chris Holder 2: Rory Schlein 3: Darcy Ward 4: Troy Batchelor 5: Davey Watt 6: Jason Doyle 7: Cameron Woodward

JCookie
Disgrace to have Doyle at reserve, one of the lesser riders like Schlein or Batchelor should go there.
