Looking at your avatar , and your anti GB rants , isnt it a touch hypocritical posting on the BRITISH Speedway forum ?
Paragon
If the BSPA gave a monkeys about British speedway they would have bought Newport speedway off the Mallets which could be used any time for practise and developement of riders. comebackkings
Last night was simply the best speedway meeting I have seen for years, if not ever. My first visit to the Norfolk Arena and it won't be my last. The track was superb, shame some just can't turn their home track bias off and give a little credit where it's due. It was interesting to talk to the Chapmans after the event, even if I was a bit drunk. Very refreshing for promoters to speak so openly about the inner workings of the 'annual piss up'. I hope they get the final at Kings Lynn next year as it will be a cracker and just reward for their efforts. I'm not expecting 'team Gb' to get to the final, but as long as the 4 riders chosen give the same effort that they put in last night I will be happy, as a nation (and that includes the sweaties) we do not have the strength in depth to compete with the Danes, Swedes, Aussies or indeed now the Russians, but with some forward thinking from the BSPA we could in a few years.
Gavan
ha ha i have to laugh at somethnig i read on here earlier. that this was the best gb team in the last 20 years? ok that takes us back to 1992 and since then Loram , Havelock, Tatum, Wigg, Doncaster, Cross, Screen, Norris, Nicholls, Rico, yep this quartet definatly the best lol
Snyper1010
Bomo what exactly are you trying to prove with that statement? Phlipphlop i didnt realise i had to be a unionist to follow a sport. Im also a member of the monarchs forum is that in some way hypocrital too? Considering i follow the sport as a whole then this forum is naturally the place to come for discussions. Shame you unionist mob feel you somehow have a strangled hold over everything. Just on a side note the web address is actually speedway-forum. Kind of puts your argument to bed. I'm anti the EU as many poster on here will profess , but i never confuse my fav sport with politics as you have . Last nights meeting was the best i've seen for many a while , edge of the seat stuff , perhaps we can focus on that yes , rather than bringing nationalism into it ? BigFatDave
I think he should be shut in a room with bigfatdave for a couple of hours. .....as long as he supplies the consumables Already bumped into bfd a couple of times, how does that affect the price of cheese? Personable young chappie as I recall, bit worried about the skirt but! Incidentally I'm hearing all sorts of rumours about SWC being in Poland next year, with Belle Vue being a long way off yet. Any others heard the same yet? Looks like I'm gonna hafta learn how ta spell Bydgoszcz properly. Edited July 10, 2012 by BigFatDave
YerRopes
Is that because its the only way "Team England" are going to make a final Because lets face it the Aussies hardly stepped out of second gear lastnight and still GB couldnt beat them. They even needed a pathetic joke of a rule to put their highest scorer in with the lowest scorers for double points just to make it look more respectable. The Czechs rode very well and if Pepe had performed better and Kus hadnt touched the tapes Engerland could well have been third. But hey it happened just like England failed to make the Final AGAIN. So off to the race off for more bias, annoying, repetative commentary. Also what was with the outdated imperialistic music at the breaks. Mind you either i was learning to drown them out or they got less and less along with GBs hopes of a win. If Ward had been fit even a Joker and a Sub wouldnt have kept England close. Come on the Danes! What a sad and bitter post.... Is it any wonder that apart from the Daily Express/Mail readers that very few people in God's Own Country wanted that 'twunt' Murray to win on Sunday (a great description and thanks to whoever for that).. Seems to me to be a typical well balanced 'Pants' post (predictive text on) - chips on both shoulders... It was a brilliant meeting and provided great entertainment to most (not everyone obviously) who watched it...
Popular Post george.m
Keep politics out of sport!!! Who cares where someone was born when you watch speedway like that. Just watching it again now and it was one hell of a meeting! Four British/English riders upped their game and gave 100% entertainment - which sport is all about. I'm pretty sure they were motivated by the memory of Lee Richardson and that's more important than anything else! Keep politics out of sport! Just like Alex Salmond, a broken record that pops up at every opportunity to create division amongst people, doing so by peeing on their fire! george.m ..... a proud Brit, and an equally proud Scot!!! Great Central
Superb meeting, superb coverage. I come on here and while there's plenty celebrating the near-miss the same old BSF mafia are dragging it down with their nasty, cynical small-minded agendas. That was wonderful speedway and if you can't enjoy that without carping this isn't your sport. Have just found time to review what was said about the meeting last night, I finally came across this great post amongst quite a lot of crap. Pure drivel most of it. Not sure what people want out of speedway but you couldn't get much better than last night. Superb track considering it was under water on Sunday morning, Buster did us proud again. GB were unlucky - Tai's chain breaking is something that does happen occasionally and it would certainly have been a new chain for last night, clutch burning out on Chris bike maybe shouldn't have happened but none of the "BSF experts" were there in the pits to understand why so shouldn't make judgements without the facts, and young Kingy going for a gap that he used to perfection in his previous ride but which closed up this time. His previous ride was outstanding and brave. The only thing that was wrong was the referee - so much rolling at the starts and not called back. Not sure about the Harris/Holder incident - maybe he was right to let it go under the rules since Harris falling was not a safety issue but having final race positions overturned is probably unique. Get real guys, that was some of the best speedway seen on television in ages.
