Snyper1010
Oh its not that i dont like watching it. I just hate they way they go on as they do year after year. The same bias yelling, the inane ranting, the constant talk of "Team England" while at the same time no other nation within the UK is allowed a team. I actually love the World Cup i just wish they would broadcast it professionally and remember that not everyone is behind England.
Gemini
I do believe that they're quite difficult to prepare after they've gone off though, hence why Harris didn't reattach his jacket to his bike after the first time it went off. Apparently not. Just unscrewed the co2 canister, put a new one in and re attached the lanyard, took about a minute. The jacket deflates on it's own. or just unscrew the canister.

BROCK
Great Idea these new airbag vests, thing I might get my Mrs one for when I am feeling amourous I think the air bags you are refering to can be bought at certain dodgy shops
Halifaxtiger
Complete rubbish, several tracks can better that week in week out and Peterborough is one of them. Week in, week out, Peterborough is better than that ? In my (albeit limited) experience it isn't (but its still one of my favourite tracks). after the quality of racing you have just seen again on what is pound for pound the best race track in the UK,you honestly want to move away from it??? stick with what works, its the entertainment business you know Quite. There can be little doubt that that meeting was a huge success and a superb advert for British Speedway. Why on earth would you want to move it elsewhere ? I am firm believer that if someone makes a success of a bif event they get it again, if they don't, they don't. I am was no fan of King's Lynn or the Chapman's but quite simply they deserve next years round after that.
Snyper1010
Jacques your just a do good, bleeding heart. You wouldnt know the meaning of bigot if it jumped up and slapped you in the face (what a lovely image) as i say just because i dont support what others support doesnt make me any less entitled to an opinion. As to the other eejit, cant be bothered to mind his/her name. Why would i go to Denmark to watch speedway when i pay my Sky subscription to watch it at home? Thats just a ridiculously silly thing to say. I didnt realise that living in Scotland means i HAVE to support England. Deary me, the English are so narrow minded. Maybe its time you realised you aint as great as you make out and not everyone is willing to buy into the team GB nonesense.
JCookie
Good performance by England and they never stopped fighting til the end. If England can ride like that in Malilla and the track is similar to a GP they stand a chance, but mainly England's chances depend on Nicki Pedersen coming back. Well done England for last night anyway.

stevebrum
Steve...... things aren't always speedway related. I think he was referring to Eddie the Eagle as in downhill skiing (or whatever it's called) not Ed Kennett. Well fancy trying to confuse me with a non related speedway analogy Well what a cracker that was, from my point of view you don't get better meetings than world cup meetings for commitment, passion and excitement that you don't get in league meetings maybe some races are better but for overall entertainment the world cup is terrific and for the same price as a league meeting if you bought in advance for more heats, what value. Could you say it a few more times - i dont think 5 is enough I actually love the World Cup i just wish they would broadcast it professionally and remember that not everyone is behind England. The vast majority are so thats all that matters. As to the other eejit, cant be bothered to mind his/her name. Maybe its time you realised you aint as great as you make out and not everyone is willing to buy into the team GB nonesense. You dont have to support England. No one is asking you too. What a shame you dont have any Scots in the team to support, i wouldnt why that is?? No one is `buying into the team GB nonesense`. But we are just patriotic when its to do with your country. How dreadful you dont share that view. Not. Denmark will finish above GB with or without Nicki IMO. It's going to be a ding dong battle though Kelvin! Quite likely, but they are miles ahead of us anyway so its to be expected.
Snyper1010
Stevebrum i dare say its the same reason why England are lagging behind other countries their size. The lack of facilities. Also the fact we have three (some will say two) teams doesnt help. Speedway is declining and it will affect the more remote clubs first. Just like rugby where Scotland has two professional clubs we struggle on the world stage. But thankfully the rugby issue is being remedied. What we need now is a new home for Monarchs, a training academy for Edinburgh, Glasgow and Berwick and another 1-2 PL teams. Plus an independent national team to give youngsters something to be proud of and aim for. England wont be a force on the a world stage either until money starts going into training instead of promoters bank accounts.
Wackie
Fantastic meeting last night, on a fantastic track, and well done to the Brits who showed passion and determination throughout the meeting, and barring the couple of mechanical gremlins & dodgy referring decision (please don't tell me they're letting that cretin ref the race off or final) would have won the meeting. They did themselves and #RICO proud. Looking forward to seeing similar attitudes from them in the race off, although I do feel that winning the meeting and grabbing the last place in the final maybe a little out of their reach. But then again, who'd have thought we'd run the aussies so close!! If TeamGB don't make the final, I'll be cheering on the Ruskies! To be fair, you never hear any of the TeamGB squad be it rider, mechanics or managers refer to the team as "England". The only time I heard it mentioned last night was from the Aussies. Deary me, the English are so narrow minded. Maybe its time you realised you aint as great as you make out and not everyone is willing to buy into the team GB nonesense. It's a fair point, and one I excercised recently when I happily watched that scottish twunt lose at Wimbledon at the weekend. That said, back in the 90's I remember on more than one occasion a whole bend at Coventry being taken over by the Scots who'd made their way down to support Kenny McKinna in British Finals. They seemed to completely embrace the whole "GB nonesence", as many of the Scottish speedway fans do today, I'm thinking you're more a minority with your views.
Snyper1010
Wackie please explain exactly what refereeing decisions cost England lastnight. As for the Kenny McKinna comment, I wonder if that was more to do with it being a Scot as opposed to a "British" event.

I thought Peterborough's last staging of a WTC round was an excellent effort with great racing. Didn't matter when future rounds were handed out in GB. JonHWeiner
If anyone watched speedway on Sky for the first time last night they would be totally hooked. That must have been one of the most exciting meetings ever. Even my wife, who dutifully goes to matches but is not a mega-fan, was shouting and screaming at the TV. Apart from one bike failure, Bomber rode out of his skin. A pity that GB didn't make the final last night but bring on Thursday.
pirateandi
Why were the Aussies allowed a joker in five of the heats last night ??? Ooops sorry it was Batchelor !!

JonHWeiner
My colleague has just reminded me of the comment on Sky after the referee excluded Chris Holder - "Now you know why they don't need goal-line technology in speedway!"

England wont be a force on the a world stage either until money starts going into training instead of promoters bank accounts. And the BSPA must take a huge part in the decline of the sport in this country. All we need is one world class rider who could mount a consistent challenge on the World Championship and fans of the sport in the UK might be tempted back. I agree that i dont see any reason why England couldnt be a nation all by itself, The Scots and Welsh im sure have little interest in the National side anyway and of course that is their (and your) right so. However with no money being put into the future of the sport here it is going nowhere fast. It wont stop the Brits getting behind their nation every year however unless we build we will not just stay static but will fall further behind even the nations further afield than us. It was only a couple of years ago we were saying that the Russians were fast approaching. Think it is fair to say they have zoomed past us now and are a potent force. Maybe our only saving grace is the National Stadium at Belle Vue. Will the authorities put in a structure to ensure that sort of facility is used to its fullest or will it just be Belle Vue`s home track and host Championship and World Cup rounds?? Probably the latter. Good to have a balanced conversation.
