g13webb
That is just not true. Whilst the racing was good tonight, I have seen just as good if not better meetings this year at Poole. And I am sure Panthers fans will stick up for their track as well. With all due respect, your getting mixed up with riders and quality of the track. When you watch the turbo twin racing each week no doubt you we see some good racings. but when you are comparing the actual race track, Poole is not in the same league as the Norfolk Arena. Your top man , Chris Holder said, the track is awesome man. Its fast, Its smooth, plenty of spaces inside and out, If you cant race here, you cant race anywhere. tracks don't get any better then this. Suppose you'll accept that now, bearing in mind he's a Poole man......
home straight
Poole can and does produce decent racing, as do most other tracks in the country, but for me at least Lynn is amazing. That said, I'd like to see a SWC round at Somerset, I think that could really be something special as well.
cityrebel
Last night was a decent meeting, but the recent stars v poole match was pretty poor for the first 13 heats. Which just goes to show you get good and bad meetings at all tracks.

I'd love to see this, but I can't see them fitting a crowd there like we saw at KL last night. It won't go there for that specific reason. robinsgirl
I don't know if it is just the fact that he is a 3 time world champ, but Jason Crump seems to to be larger than life, even when not getting the results that have been expected of him at times.Great to see him in UK. SCB
SWC at Somerset? Yes please! But have to agree, you'd never fit everyone in.
micman
The morning after the night before and I'd just like to thank every single fan of Team GB for getting behind the boys and willing them to win. I know the result didn't go the team's way but, despite what some people have said, a broken chain and burnt clutch can't be blamed on lack of mechanical maintenance. Unfortunately, these things happen but you cannot deny that all four Team GB riders, the team manager and respective pit crews showed true determination and passion throughout the night. We said from the very beginning that the fans would be the "fifth man", two of the riders I spoke to during the meeting said that they could actually hear the crowd above the noise of the bikes and, yes, it makes a huge difference to them. Neil Middleditch also commented on the encouragement from the terraces so well done all of you. A special mention to Buster Chapman and the track preparation team for preparing a superb racing surface that provided such good racing. Team loyalties were put aside for one night and, for me in my final season of speedway presentation, it was a privilege to be a part of such a memorable meeting. You all did Rico proud! blueherb777
regarding the Harris-Holder incident, IMHO contact was plain to see but i thought it was a controlled 'get off' from Harris, he could have stayed on the machine. I did chuckle when Harris jumped up though, looking like the michelin man with his 'air bag' going off.... Good meeting to watch, the aussies with Darcy in would have walked it, bit concerned with Troy on his peddlo, looked very slow. Yes it did look strange. I thought he had just put weight on ? Is he trying something new,or does he always wear it ? Do not know if it has been mentioned but how many times did the Aussie riders refer to GB as ENGLAND. Wish the team could go back to be called England. Nice piece about RICO(Rip)before racing - got really choked up watching it. Great racing and GB really gave it a go for Rico and British racing. Just cannot see the Lads finishing above the Poles AND Danes on Thursday.

Being biased is ok with me, its the shouting I cant hack!!! Dave_minall
Is he trying something new,or does he always wear it ? A few riders have started using them new - I believe I've heard of Batchelor, K Bjerre, Harris and Bunyan using them now. There is a simple lanyard attachment that comes from around the riders stomach attaches to the frame and when this is pulled the jacket inflates around the chest, back and coccyx. I do believe that they're quite difficult to prepare after they've gone off though, hence why Harris didn't reattach his jacket to his bike after the first time it went off. foreverblue
Saddlebow road is a fantastic race track, nearly all the top riders say so,it's just the better riders in the world cup bring out the best in it. All the riders ride at there limit and sometimes over it,would Danny King have won that race against those riders in a league meeting,i don't think so. Can anyone criticise Middlo's team selection now,all our riders did us proud, without a couple of unfotunate mechanical gremlins we could have won.
Snyper1010
What a brilliant meeting, it had everything but most importantly it had racing!!! Surely Kings Lynn must be given the play offs and final next year. Well done to all the riders for making a "proper speedway" meeting tonight...WOW!!! Is that because its the only way "Team England" are going to make a final Because lets face it the Aussies hardly stepped out of second gear lastnight and still GB couldnt beat them. They even needed a pathetic joke of a rule to put their highest scorer in with the lowest scorers for double points just to make it look more respectable. The Czechs rode very well and if Pepe had performed better and Kus hadnt touched the tapes Engerland could well have been third. But hey it happened just like England failed to make the Final AGAIN. So off to the race off for more bias, annoying, repetative commentary. Also what was with the outdated imperialistic music at the breaks. Mind you either i was learning to drown them out or they got less and less along with GBs hopes of a win. If Ward had been fit even a Joker and a Sub wouldnt have kept England close. Come on the Danes!

Andrew Postie Thompson
The reason the crowd numbers looked lower i believe was due to the fact last year the poles were in town and with the large eastern European community we have in Norfolk they packed out turns 1 and 2 last year by themselves. As for the meeting was one of the best i have ever seen, plenty of passing and wasn't follow the leader every heat like i had feared it may have been, team Gb rode their socks off and gave the fans something to cheer all nite, the track was fantastic and although slick it produces better racing than when its grippy as in the PL days at Lynn, if it does move next year it has a lot to live up to but would be nice for English speedway if we could get the final next year but if it come down to finances then can we compete with the other nations?? Come on the Danes! In the words of Mark Renton from Trainspotting: It's nae good blamin it oan the English fir colonising us. Ah don't hate the English. They're just prats. We are colonised by prats. We can't even pick a decent, vibrant, healthy culture to be colonised by. No. We're ruled by effete arseholes. What does that make us? The lowest of the f****n low, tha's what, the scum of the earth. The most wretched, servile, miserable, pathetic trash that was ever shat intae creation. Ah don't hate the English. They just git oan wi the rubbishe thuv goat. Ah hate the Scots.
Snyper1010
Dave, are you saying that anyone who doesnt support England isnt allowed to be a speedway fan? Home straight, nice google skills but way off topic. Maybe next time come up with something relevant. I see this place doesnt change, you cant speak your mind if it goes against the masses. Rather sad really.
Dave_minall
It seems that it is impossible for some people to be satisfied - my point wasn't aimed at the lack of patriotism, as this country seems to only have that whenever something like this is in town (football included) I was merely making a point that if you don't like what is provided, don't watch it.
