I'd also be grateful if any Hitmen supporters that live in the close proximity of the circuit, could keep us updated on the weather situation.

I'm leaving Norfolk at 7.00am tomorrow morning, so if anyone is up and about then, a quick posting on here would be much appreciated, so that a possible wasted journey can be avoided.

Thank You

Mike

Forecast is for the possibility of showers in the morning but mainly dry in the afternoon. What the week's weather has already done to the track is anyone's guess (without making the trek to the track) as Richard needed to water it before the Dudley meeting !!!

Maybe Jayne will know a bit more prior to me setting off on my trek from deepest Norfolk before most people are up!!!!

Fingers crossed anyway.

Had some heavy showers today along with some much needed sunshine but it is the weather tomorrow that counts. As long as the rain stays away we will be fine as the track drains well and we may well be watering before the meeting as we were a couple of weeks ago.

Will update in the morning but won't be up as early as 7am but if you want to send me your mobile number Mimmo I will let you know if it is off after you set off.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm.

Thanks

Well the sunshine has been and gone. Has been raining for the last hour or so and doesn't look like getting any better. Forecast is for rain to continue so we have made the decision to cancel the meeting. Hopefully those that are travelling haven't got too far.

Very many thanks Jayne for texting me with the news that the meeting had been rained-off, it was much appreciated.

As I said in my reply, I was walking around Bakewell by then (we always leave early so as to make a day of it) and it was bone dry there.

It must be very difficult for you promoters to know what decision to make, because an hour or so later, my wife and I were eating our picnic in the park at Buxton where it was dry. I know from experience down this end where we've had a meeting called off at the Norfolk Arena, yet less than half a mile up the road it was completely free of the wet stuff. It's very frustrating for all concerned.

Unfortunately apart from the wasted money on fuel, I broke my bloomin' tooth whilst sitting eating my roll (okay, I know you want to know what was in it.....Cheese & Cucumber!!) so I'll have an expensive dental bill tomorrow too.

Oh Happy Days!!

Mike,

Missed meeting up with you today due to the rain off. Looked like the right decision when viewing the webcam at Flash and then the rain cleared but I presume that the damage to the track had already been done. Forecast was not good either but who would be a promoter having to make the call?

Glad that you enjoyed your trip into Derbyshire again but it would have been nice to see some racing.

Hi Martin,

Forgetting about the disappointment of seeing no speedway, especially as King's Lynn were going to win :party::wink::D , the broken tooth made it not such a good day out. Still, Jan enjoyed looking around the shops, at all the things us men just love to do....Mmmmm!! I couldn't even find an Ann Summers outlet to pass some time in!!!!!!!!!!

All the Best

Mike
