Guest
It's a shame to see so little now happening on the cycle speedway section. A last message posted nearly two months ago. It was very active initially when it started some two years ago. In London there is now only one track - much different to the 'bomb site' track days of the late 1940s and early 1950s. The Spokesman is is an excellent forum in regard to what is happening in the sport - possibly near you. Call the site up, then take your pick of what you want to read as detailed in the Home Page box on the left. http://www.spokesman-online.co.uk/ Edited July 11, 2013 by Guest

Guest
Here's some good stuff from The Spokesman-on-line: http://www.spokesman...e.co.uk/14.html A thread about Derek Cattle, the 1950s Tooting Tigers rider, is in Years Gone By, but probably not the right place for the query. Can anyone provide an answer please? http://www.speedway-...0 Edited August 3, 2013 by Guest

Richspeedway
This weekend sees Saturday as racing day at Perry Park as the Monarchs host Round 7 of Eurovets with Monarchs Paul Timms and Stephen Hodgkinson in action. Afterwards Birmingham host Newcastle in a Challenge fixture which will give the Perry Barr side a chance to field some of the young talent and give them some full meeting experience. Tapes go up at 1pm, food, drink and programmes will be on sale and it is free to watch. http://birminghammonarchs.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/vets-and-challenge-at-perry-park-weekend-preview/

It's a pity that there's not more Posts about cyckle speedway on this forum. I suppose it gets its coverage elsewhere? signed - a 1950s Brockley Boomerangs rider! Tom Thumb
Can anyone tell me, will there by any cycle speedway on Sky this winter? I think coverage of the recent British Final from Coventry will have some highlights on Sky at some point.

A great advert for cycle speedway - two well turned out teams, a neat little track, good racing. And di I hear that Sheffield had two Polish riders in their side. I thoroughly enjoyed this - it took me back to what was known as 'the skid kid' era and in the late 1950s I rode a Phillips special and was with long-forgotten London area teams Brockley Boomerangs and Welling Wings, and a couple of sides in east London based in the Beckton area. Guest
It may be Christmas but there's much going on in the world of cycle speedway. http://www.spokesman-online.co.uk/ However, this thread needs to be read fully. Some matters discussed in the latest Posts in regard to the trip to Australia which are recorded here may cause concern in some quarters. http://www.spokesman-online.co.uk/worlds_2013_338.html Edited December 24, 2013 by Guest
Guest
I know that Links regarding cycle speedway are not welcomed by all BSF members, but for those who are interested - and I am as a former 'bomb site pioneer' - here's something about the recent indoor events. The photos look good too. Enjoy. http://www.spokesman-online.co.uk/
