1) Wondered if anyone can help with knowing the wareabouts of Scottish rider, Chuck Pinkerton, who also raced Stock Cars in Scotland on the 1950's.

2) Did any of the following people also race Speedway in the 1950's in Scotland.

Jock McCulloch

Tiger Thompson

Henry Hogg

Joe / John Murphy

Bill McLeod

3) Do you know of any race programme collectors who have collections that include the1950's

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction

Thanks

Bill McLeod rode a few times for Edinburgh in 1949 and 1950.

Henry Hogg were the first two Christian names of the speedway rider Harry Darling. Could these people be one and the same. If so, Harry rode for Edinburgh in 1952 and 1953.

  • 12 years later...

I've just come across this thread so sorry it's 12years late.

!. I was told that Chuck Pinkerton was George Pinkerton the speedway rider and later Squadrant- leader in the RAF during the second world war. He raced stockcars at Stepps Stadium not far from his rhubarb fields at Hogganfield Loch.

2. John Murphy also known as Spud Murphy rode speedway at Glasgow White city and also in Ireland at Shelbourne Park. He did not make the main team, but rode in second half events.
