manchesterpaul
"WOOFY, WOOFY, WOOFY" nice to see someones drunk more than me tonight Not me i back very early from planned night on the beer. Good job got a well stocked bar at home for a night of sport still ahead. Regarding the repeated "WOOFY WOOFY WOOFY" Hasse is innocent it a clear case of WOOFY hacking Hasse's BSF account!
Jacques
Clucking bell....what a bloody meeting. Not for the racing but what tension. What a terrifying last 4 heats. I was shouting for the Russians and nearly jumped through the TV several times That's the first part of my prediction all I need now is for our lot to join them. Was that last heat the greatest speedway race of the 21st century? If not I am miffed I missed whichever one was. Yes the start girls were out of the top drawer and easily eclipsed the Monster crew. What a wonderful sight, probably one of the best I've ever seen on a speedway track. But enough of the superb Polish start tarts, heat 20 was one of the finest races I've ever been lucky enough to watch. Disappointed that the event didn't go to a decider between the Poilsh girls and their Monster rivals - you could almost hear the hissing and spitting from here. Wonderful speedway, and only the start. Over to you King's Lynn. Go to a " decent" hotel here in the UK and look around the foyers....There are plenty of them plying their trade, they are ten a zloty.. manchesterpaul
Great start to the SWC. If the next 3 meetings are as good, I'll be happy! Some fine racing tonight, heat 20 was especially special. Perfect way to finish the meeting. Think it shows that sometimes a slick track can provide great races.. But.....how many MORE great races would we have had with a grippy track? I think organizers are scared of riders injuring themselves resulting in heats with 3 or 2 riders in and so are trying to make a track surprise proof. King's Lynn should be interesting in it's set-up. Is it my selective memory or has that track been one of the most dreadful for injuring riders be it in a meeting or practice? chunky
I've been noticing the proliferation of comments regarding tonight's start tarts. Not sure if that is reflection on modern speedway (and a lack of excitement) or a reflection on the frustrated old saddos on this forum!!! T.N.T.
Tomasz Gollob has said in a Press Release after the meeting that he feels Poland should have qualified tonight for a number of reasons ..... 1 - They were on home advantage 2 - They never used a tactical ride / sub He also commented on the selection of Grzegorz Walasek who only managed 2 points all night and felt they should have selected a rider that would have scored better on a Polish track and then replaced by Kasprzak for the race off / final ....... So he feels they would have been better with ..... Lukasz Sowka Edited July 7, 2012 by T.N.T.

gaptooth
Really? If we finish 2nd in the first meeting, 3rd should be a given in the race-off as a minimum given that we will have beat the Czechs and the Germans at Lynn, we should be able to beat them in the race-off too. Do you honestly think the Czechs/Germans will be a threat to us in the race-off? Is Nichols fit enough that if he has a big off in his first ride he could continue? Likewise Tai. Kennett on stand by, well he's not exactly pulling up trees. Sorry mate but I don't share your optimism.
SCB
Is Nichols fit enough that if he has a big off in his first ride he could continue? Likewise Tai. Kennett on stand by, well he's not exactly pulling up trees. Sorry mate but I don't share your optimism. Even with a 3 man team we'll see off anything the Czech or Germans throw at us. Must admit, I'd prefer they stayed away from Kennett - He's not good enough now and he never will be. At least Barker, Auty, Roynon, Mear etc stand a chance of being capable in a few years time,
gaptooth
Auty or Roynon, IMO, should have been in from the start. Can't see the point of blindly trudging on with has beens and never will be's. As someone said earlier, might as well let all the youngsters have a run out.
T.N.T.
To be honest, England could track Vaculik and Zmarzlik but wont get near the Aussies .... Tai, Bomber and Scotty are on the same level as Davey Watt but Crumpy and the Deadly duo are a few notches higher. ..... barring any falls or engine failures I can see Australia hitting 50 points in Event 2 .... Team GB at least 10 above the Czechs and Germany lucky to hit double figures. Australia 52 .... Team GB 39 .... Czechs 24 .... Germany
mdmc82
Last nights meeting was great esp heat 20. Shouting at the tv for emil or mjj to win to keep poland from winning. The fact it was so close made it more exciting and so good racing. Dont think tomorrows will be as close as think aussies have got to be firm favourites. Gb have the downfall of scotty and tai still not being 100% fit so hope they are ok and that all the boys stay safe. Good luck to them. screm
Fairly decent meeting with the scores close throughout, going into the last race there was every possibility of a three man run-off,and what a race that wouldve been.

pandorum
We have a chance tonight if everybody turns up and rides like they should. Crumpie is NOT unbeatable. As to Russia they won the meeting under the rules of the WTC. So they had a Joker. It wasn't the first and won't be the last. They had a bit of luck because Emil was there to pick it up and score 6 points. Not the first team to qualify for the final that had a bit of luck. They had to be in a position to take the luck and their three riders in heats #17, 18 and 19 rode blinders and it was a bit of bad luck for them that allowed us heat #20 to be as exciting as it was. I hope our lads get a bit of luck tonight and make the final. If they do then the qualifier on Thursday may well be one of the meetings of the century.
