Woz01
think USA look stronger Really?? Apart from Greg they havent got much else, you shouldnt expect to much from Hammill. I think GB have picked the right 4 riders and if Woffinden is fit the they can push Australia at King's Lynn, is Darcy Ward going to be fit?

lucifer sam
Aren't Great Britain and the USA in different rounds? I thought the USA were competing in the round in Poland. I'm surprised Ben Barker is not in the Great Britain team, after his efforts in 2011. He was Britain's second best rider in the 2011 Race Off, the only one apart from Chris Harris really mixing it with the other riders. All the best Rob

Iversen Leon Madsen Michael Jepsen Jensen Mikkel B Jensen Peter Kildemand When Team Demark goes to Sweden after Event 1 Nicki Pedersen will join the team Looks like the Danes are using this round to blood new faces and fully expect to be in the Race-Off on the Thursday. Team GB has now been announced: 1.chris harris 2.scott nicholls 3.tai woffinden (if fit) 4.danny king Any sign of naming the reserve ? As Tai and Scott are injury doubts I would have thought that at least one rider would have been put on stand-by (Barker, Stead, Kennett, Allen, Auty ?) Scott should be riding at Peterborough on Thursday so he should be fit, i would bet Barker would be named to replace Tai if he isnt fit
ImpartialOne
Danish Team for Event 1 Niels Kr. Iversen Leon Madsen Michael Jepsen Jensen Mikkel B Jensen Peter Kildemand When Team Demark goes to Sweden after Event 1 Nicki Pedersen will join the team This team looks dangerously vulnerable to me with only Iversen dependable. The others can all blow hot and cold and could do anything from 0 to 10 points. I would have thought trying to go direct to the final would be every nation's ambition and to do that Nicki is a must. Think over the years the team that has won the Race-Off has had a distinct advantage over the teams that go directly into the final.Personally i think this decision i good for Denmark, both now and for the future

g13webb
When you look at the other countries teams, it really hits home just how weak GB are now. We can't even name a squad of good riders without including two that are injured. On the face of it countries like Demark, Australia, Sweden, Poland could name their 2nd team and still be stronger then GB. The biggest worry, is that we as a country are not doing enough to breed new talent, and so this situation will only get progressively worse. And to think 35 yrs ago we ruled the world.... ImpartialOne
Does Vaculik ride for Czech Republic? He's Slovakian. And to think 35 yrs ago we ruled the world Actually it was only 23 years ago. And let's be fair, only 8 years ago we were unlucky to lose out by a point thanks to Eurovision style tactics from the Danes and Swedes. It's only really in the last few years since we lost Loram and Floppy as solid GB riders, and more recently Richardson when he quit that GB has struggled to assemble a decent team. Admittedly though the talent has been thin on the ground for ten years or more. What we'd give to have a squad like the late 90s of Loram, Screen, Havelock, Louis, Smith, Cox, Dugard, Richardson, Norris, etc to choose from now.
