Jef
Forcast looking OK for Tuesday so hopefully we'll get some speedway this week! Anyone know the likely line up? Is Aaron Baseby still in a replacement for Marc Owen? Any news on Nick Simmons?

builderbob
i thought hitting the tapes was not allowed and a rider doing so is excluded but apparently if your on the outside closest to the ref and its heat 15 its ok think the ref was in a hurry for the ferry

builderbob
does no one have any interest in the iow
slim24
There does'nt seem to be alot of interest on here does there!!, the only interest seems to come from if Nick is returning or not, which to a degree is understandable as he has been very good for the Islanders, but the fact is he isn't in the 1-7 right now and no one really knows when he will be fit to return. Personally I think we should be talking more about how the current 1-7 are doing. Tuesday wasn't a bad meeting with some good races, Considering Rye were effectively a three man team they put up a good fight right untill the last heat, for the Iow, Danny Warwick we excellent once again and is filling the captains roll very well this year, shame about the hefty fine he received for not clearing the track in heat 15, and also Danny Stoneman deserves a mention, rode well all evening and never gave in, he was always pushing looking to make a pass where possible. Overall not Vintage from the IOW, but job done and three more points
Jef
I was hoping Nick would return soon as to be honest I'm not that impressed with Kyle, He's been OK but hardly a replacement for Nick. Danny was excellent on Tuesday, Shame about the fine but to be honest he's only got himself to blame! What he did was dangourous, however annoyed he was at the ref's decision putting himself and the other riders in danger was Crazy! Impressed with Danny Stoneman too seems to have got a bit quicker and a real racer. Paul still seems to have more than his share of bike problems, possibly why Ben Hopwood was in heat 15? Personnally I'd have give Danny Stoneman the extra ride. As for Rye, James Sargeant and Jason Garrity were First Class and Ben Morley looked good, Surprised that Luke Chessell struggled considering his experience around smallbrook and I imagine Ricky Mullins would have wanted to put on a better show considering. TMW
There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest on here does there!!, the only interest seems to come from if Nick is returning or not, You only seem to go onto page 2 and beyond if a team has lost and people concoct conspiracy theories as to why. Dudley have a massive fan base and 3 or 4 come on here that speaks volumes. Sad but true
cityrebel
as a smallbrook regular it seems a lot of the intrest in the IOW dissapeared when the islanders dropped down into the NL. full credit to all those on the island who keep the track running during these hard times. I would have to agree with your post cityrebel, alot of people probably did walk away when we went NL, but I wonder have they even given it a chance, ok maybe smallbrook isn't ideal for this level of racing in terms of track size, but surely some speedway is better than none at all, I guess maybe for some it isn't value for money anymore and that is understandable, but it is a real shame to see, because on occasion you get some very entertaining racing in the NL. Or perhaps they don't realise that adult admission is just £11 and kids under 10 are admitted free with a paying adult?
semion
Just £11 ? £11 is a lot to some families these days.
waco
This meeting only goes to show how long the tail is in the Raiders at the present time..Okay Shane had an off night and i dont include him in that statement...Nick Lee was unreliable and seems to have dissapeared altogether...We need to get Braddock back and bring in a rider allowing Chessel to drop to reserve..Will Mason be back ? and can we keep Garrity if he does return ? if we cant the team will be weakened further ..And the few fans we have now will deminish to a handfull..What then ??? Richard Franklin, is around out there kicking his heels, no Team to ride for, his 2011 average is around mid four or fives age under 21, would certainly do a job for someone definately The Raiders, and as you say Waco the added bonus of allowing Chessel to drop to reserve, would his average fit ?. Indeed Richard could fit the bill but not sure how the Garrity ,Mason situation will pan out..Perhaps he should contact Len or John and let them know of his availability....
