Gp Challenge Final Gorican Saturday 29th September

WHATEVER ... the fact is that Ward is the best rider currently outside the GP, has the capability to not only win GPs but also the whole shooting match and is box office on TV and for a live audience.

I wouldn't argue that he needs to shape up away from the track but he only has to look at Holder and see how he has matured while still possessing some of that raw Aussie charm!

So if Crump has retired, who takes his spot? 9th in the championship, or Ales Dryml from the challenge?

Quote from an article at speedwaygp.com:

http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/1880/crump-retires-from-sgp

Crump’s retirement means the rider who finishes ninth in the SGP standings will be guaranteed a spot in the 2013 competition.

The place is currently occupied by Andreas Jonsson and Hans Andersen trails him by 20 points in 10th.

With the final final line-up being

Matej Zagar

Niels Kristian Iversen

Ales Dryml

Leon Madsen

I got to go for wishing NKI gets through. Which of the other three gets through isn't going to have any great significance for next year's series.

You're joking as Matej is much better than NKI.

Nailed on wildcards ....

Hampel, Jonsson, Ward & Woffinden :approve:

Jonsson in already due to Crumpie retiring so Hampel, Ward, Vaculik & if a token Brit then please let it be Tai.

As much as i don't like Ward you can't argue with his talent & it wouldn't surprise me if Red Bull take up sponsoring him now Jason is out of the GP's.

Great to see matej back in the GP's as he's pure class.

So did he turn it down or not ? Just interested to know and why, if it wasn't' money

Eh?

He didn't turn it down, you've just been told that!

Why was he not allowed to take part in the Aussie qualifiers, or whatever it's called? Hmmmm, well let me take a guess! Can I also bring to your attention the fact he was acquitted in a court of law..... :

Accept that totally, my point was that it was no-one else's fault but his that he could not ride in Oz. he was acquitted yes, but allow himself to be in a position that a case was brought. Surely no-one is to blame for that, he was clearly a little naive

On the other point, if he was offered it and didn't turn it down, why was he not in the series ? Surely he did turn it down, mr Rising said he turned it down not only for money so I was not told anything of the sort

At the end of the day he has gone through the qualifiers from the very start whereas other prima donnas skip the qualifiers thinking they have a devine right to be iven a wildcard

If its Ales, in fact its true for any of the guys who qualify from tonight then they will have MORE right to be in the GP series than ANY wildcard.

God only why he wants to do it given the cost but there are other riders who are so arrogant that they just sit at home waiting to be asked, in some cases even when asked they cant be arsed to do it until it suits them better

Go on Ales, stick it up 'em mate and spoil their plans

So basically your slagging off riders who sit out the qualifiers and turn down wild cards?!

What a buffoon!!

Chris is entitled to his opinion without being insulted.

As the qualifying rounds are there precisely to enable riders outside the top eight to qualify for the GP series on their own merits, it is a perfectly valid opinion IMO.

Thank the lord!

Now throw in Hampel, Ward, Vaculik and another.... GP's will be very good to watch.

Hope that another isn't Woffinden for the sake of having a Brit in the series. Honestly, we can do without one, they'll still be the token Brit at Cardiff for the fans with the meeting wildcard.

Holder seems to have grown up this year, maybe it's down to fatherhood? In which case, let Ward carry on being a knob off track, we don't need him breeding, one of him's more than enough!

You're joking as Matej is much better than NKI.

That might have been the case 5 years ago, but Matej seems to have lost his way a bit recently. That said, if he's in the mood he'll be an exciting addition to the GP's.

All in all, the 3 qualifiers couldn't have been any better for the series. Hopefully if the permanent wildcards are given to Ward, Hampel, Vaculik & MJJ there's nobody in next years series who you'd pick out as a complete duffer.

Hes moaning that a rider sat out of the qualifiers and turned down a wild card... A very pointless thing to do!!

I would hazard a guess plenty of riders have been appproached about a wild card and turned it down and not entered the qualifiers but because its Ward who most seem to despise of, people rip into him.

The GPs should be the best 15 in the world and if this means Ward gets a wild card without qualifying then so be it... Hes proved he is more than ready with his previous gp results.

Also think cack like Dryml and walasek etc should be banned from qualifying... Lets be honest what would they add to the series? Sod all. Neither are exciting, dryml in particular is no more than an average reserve in the leagues he competes in.

Laughable - or an opinion?

NKI has been a sensation this season, hes a much better rider than Zagar in Poland and is well up there in Sweden too infact does Zagar even bother in Sweden?

And you called me a baffoon

Never read such rubbish, but as Neil says its your opinion and you are erntitled to it without any hurling abuse at you

Its called debate, have a look in the dictionary

The qualifying process is there for a reason and for me the only thing that keeps the GP's from being a complete circus. You have to keeop a qualifying process open and if someone enters and gets through a whole series of rounds then they deserve to be in the GP. The day the GP is just a series of picks with no qualifying will be a sad day

And for what its worth I do believe that riders should try to qualify and laregly I would say that if they do not even attempt to qualify then they should NOT be eliglble for a wildcard. Surely if you want to be in the GP's you should try to qualify ?

Just my view

Chris, the permanent wildcard process is there for a reason, even if sometimes us supporters aren't told the full reasons why a rider can't always accept one.

Just because you haven't been told these reason's, doesn't mean the rider in question shouldn't be in the series. I agree with you that there should always be a qualifier as well.
