Bike And Equipment

Hi Guys,

Apologies if I have place this in the wrong place? I’m hoping for a bit of advice here as I’m quite out of date.

Within the next couple of months I would like to buy a bike. At the moment I have it in my head I will spend about £1000 for a bike and hoping I would get some spares included. Is this realistic sum or am I completely off track?

Where’s the best place to look for a second hand bike? Is it just a case of keeping an eye open on various track days?

I have seen this one “Item number: 270995609286on eBay. Looks like just what I’m after but not sure if it’s a good price?

I would like something with a laydown engine instead of what I previously used or will that be out of my budget?

Are Weslake engined bike’s still used on the training tracks?

Here’s a funny question for you. I see riders using Kevlar’s and body armour now; does this mean no one use’s leather’s anymore?

I know some of these questions are like asking “how long is a piece of string” so any advice would be great just to get me thinking in the right direction.

What I don’t want to hear is “Your too old don’t bother” I’m sensitive you will hurt my feeling.

Thanks
