home straight
If you are going to compare averages then Meidzinski was still classed as 5.57 whilst Shamek was 6.95 from last year. You cant compare averages from this V last year to prove he is currently better, come on!! Who isnt to say that Shamek would be more nearer 9 IF he was riding here?? Miedzinski did well, as everyone knew he would. Nothing to suggest that Shamek wont better that. Of course you can Steve, you're talking nonsense. What you can't do is start talking about Miedzinski having a 5.57 average from 5 years ago as if it's relevant. Pawlicki's average was gained last year and is a good indicator of his current ability, Miedzinski's average was gained this year and is a good indicator of his current ability - of course you can compare them. Yes Pawlicki might increase his average, but that's not guaranteed, and for him to improve by a point and a half to Miedzinski's level would be a massive ask. foreverblue
If we have to have a pole i would rather it was Kolodziej or Protaseiwicz or even Walasek.
home straight
Exactly So Riding at number 5 will mean that Shamek will pick up less bonus points so without improving his GSA will increase! Not true If you ride at #3 or #4 with a similar standard partner and beat 1 opponent, there's a good chance that your team partner will finish ahead of you thus increasing your tally of bonus points. If you ride at #5 with poor reserves, if you beat one opponet, it's unlikely that your team partner will finish ahead of you. So the same rider riding at #3 or #4 is likely to pick up more bonus points than if he were at #

Absolutely true, we know what Miedzinski`s current ability is because he has a current average. It isnt fair to judge Pawlicki on last years average because he may be a whole better rider this season. You clearly believe last year is his ability, but that is a dangerous assumption. Example, if we judge a rider on last year`s ability then Kings Lynn would have the worst and poorest Number one in the EL, and lets face it - we all thought it! Im delighted for Neils who has looked 2nd heat leader at best through-out his career. Pawlicki looks a huge talent as has shown in his time with the Bees. So its hugely debatable if 6.95 is his real ability this season or not.
John Leslie
Not true So the same rider riding at #3 or #4 is likely to pick up more bonus points than if he were at #5 If what he said was "Not true" why have you concluded by agreeing with him that someone riding at No.5 will pick up less bonus points than someone at No.3 or 4?
home straight
So its hugely debatable if 6.95 is his real ability this season or not. Agreed. But it's also hugely debatable if 8.47 is his real ability this season, has he ever averaged that anywhere in the world? If what he said was "Not true" why have you concluded by agreeing with him that someone riding at No.5 will pick up less bonus points than someone at No.3 or 4? Because the "not true" bit was that Pawlicki's average would automatically increase by riding at number 5 rather than number 3 or 4 Edited June 13, 2012 by home straight

Gavan
Miedzinski was obviously a better rider than 5.57 and Pawlicki is obviuosly a better than 6.97 or whatever it is. Miedzinski did up his average and in my mind Pawlicki is better has more potential and so therefore will do as well if not better. You cant say AM at 8.50 is a 1.5 better rider than Pawlicki thats just rubbish! you cant compare the 2 averages. the only problem with Pawlicki is his availability so in that respect you may be weaker but not on scoring ability! Its a typical Poole thread i.e that they defend the indefensible time after time. Putting in excuses as to why they wont win the league already just in case they dont happen to, when any normal educated supporter can see they will walk it this year. They looking for the excuse that whoever comes in will make them weaker and so therefore will lose the league. It is blatant what they have done bought in someone on a false average to then make sure he doesnt leave until he gets his new average meaning they can effectively replace a 5.5 rider with an 8 point rider!! And that will make them weaker? How? Only if they replace with a 5.5 rider which they should have done at the end of May. 2012 season - the year the elite league was ruined
home straight
Miedzinski was obviously a better rider than 5.57 Irrelevant - that was an average he obtained 5+ years ago and Pawlicki is obviuosly a better than 6.97 or whatever it is. Maybe, maybe not. That was an average obtained within that last 12 months, and therefore far more likely to be accurate than Miedzinski's 5.57 figure Miedzinski did up his average and in my mind Pawlicki is better has more potential and so therefore will do as well if not better. Supposition You cant say AM at 8.50 is a 1.5 better rider than Pawlicki thats just rubbish! you cant compare the 2 averages. Of course you can, they are the current averages for both riders and have been obtained in the recent past. The automatic assumption that Pawlicki WILL UNDOUBTEDLY up his average by 1.5 points is rubbish however. the only problem with Pawlicki is his availability so in that respect you may be weaker but not on scoring ability! Now you're just repeating the same old anti Poole nonsense you've no doubt read on here before. It is blatant what they have done bought in someone on a false average to then make sure he doesnt leave until he gets his new average meaning they can effectively replace a 5.5 rider with an 8 point rider!! And that will make them weaker? Well the whole point of team building is to select riders who will increase there average. If that rider then leaves, nothing illegal or immoral has taken place. "replacing a 5.5 rider with an 8 point rider" is a foolish thing to say. Adrian Miedzinski is an 8.5 rider as his average shows. Of course Poole should be allowed to replace him as such. How? Only if they replace with a 5.5 rider which they should have done at the end of May. Why? 2012 season - the year the elite league was ruined

Woz01
Poole are not doing anything wrong in this instance but the way they got Miedzinski in the first place is wrong.
Gavan
where did i say it was wrong to replace an 8.5 rider with an 8.5 rider? that is within the rules it was the way that AM was signed which is the problem here. Obtaining a 5.5 rider to stop anyone probably using him again and then making sure he stayed long enough to get his new average was the issue and to be fair 99% of this forum do see that!

Obtaining a 5.5 rider and ensuring he stays long enough to get a new average is good management, there are alot of riders who don't ride here anymore because their average is perceived as too high and not all of them achieved their new average riding for Poole!! Whatever are you talking about now? What makes you think Poole used Adrian Miedzinski in order to make him unusable for anyone else? Adrian Miedzinski only wanted to ride here until May. Matt Ford wanted him to stay for the rest of the year. You have to deal with facts, you can't just go making stuff up. Polish league 24. Shamek 7.22 32. Miedzinski 6.67 Swedish Elitserien Shamek 7.74 with BP, 7.23 W/O Miedzinski 6.15 with BP, 5.85 W/O Based on these two leagues been much stronger competition Shamek seems the better rider as they both ride in the same leagues. Think it also shows how weak the Elite league is. Edited June 13, 2012 by yorkshiretyke
Gavan
they didnt just use him for that reason although wouldnt suprise me anything ford did with the win at all costs attitude. Im not going over the end of may/ all season debate on AM its been done to death. There isnt just 1 reason why Poole are disliked there are numerous and again they have been flogged to death. Its a shame as your club has good support the best two riders and racers in the world really yet time and again your promotion let you down and speedway in general with they way they do things and get away with it. when supporters are on here and cant understand why other speedway fans get annoyed about it then it adds more fuel to the fire, you need to realise what is right and wrong with your club. Im an Ipswich fan and believe me i loved it when we won the league but we manipulated it all when we had Gollob on a false average with an obviously improving fast Nicholls and Louis and Rickardsson and a premier league number 1 at reserve in Toni Svab. It wasnt done right or for the interests of the sport but by golly we enjoyed winning it. I wish Poole fans were the sam enjoy your success and the riders you have but accept you havent entirely been legit in doing it.
Authorised
Its all irrelevant.....Poole have got this title, whatever Shovlar says, bookies have Poole as firm favourites - odds on, which is unusual in a play off sport. Still, they have form for bottling it, and can do it again.... Very dull, boring season. Quite sure Pawlicki is a 9 pointer in the D-Elite League. In fact, I am more certain of this, than of Poole winning the title. I just hope Pawlicki realises what he is doing.....a few months at Poole and he will be required to serve a year at Belle Vue, then no doubt re-join Poole in 2014 at 4.95.

Then why did you say they did? Im not going over the end of may/ all season debate on AM its been done to death. Yes, it has been done to death, and it came to an end when the Swindon promoter came on here and said that all the talk about the end of May was irrelevant and that Poole were perfectly entitled to use Adrian Miedzinski for as long as they wanted this season. If the Swindon promoter doesn't have an issue with him riding beyond the end of May, then I fail to see how and or why an ipswich fan is getting all hot and bothered about it. Unless of course you've seen all the attacks on Poole, and, without really understanding them have decided to have some fun yourself by sticking the boot in. If you have then sadly you've made yourself look an idiot. There isnt just 1 reason why Poole are disliked there are numerous and again they have been flogged to death.
