mdmc82
Hope roynon gets through as he has been one of the most exciting riders to watch in all 3 leagues.
Blazeaway
What a shame, I was going to pop along to Rye next Tuesday. Can't really do league meetings as usually something else on, on a Saturday. http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/No-British-semi-final-for-Rye-House-10072012.htm
Charley
Can't say I disagree that its a shambles that they can't even manage to fit in enough qualifiers that every decent rider has a chance to qualify, but you can kind of see that staging dates are running low now. Think they've missed a trick though. They've attempted to be innovative with a few things this year - maybe they could have tried to accommodate as many riders into the "final" as possible - lots of permutations but justifiably could see the top 4 (as in those selected for world cup squad and who performed generally well), then maybe give the chance to say 20 other riders. possibly use the old grand prix format where you had to get 1st or 2nd or maybe seed the next 8 through and have 12 riders/9 qualifying heats with top 4 through to another 12 riders/9 second round heats with top 4 qualifying for the final 8/8 heats followed by a final with the top 4 riders? 28 heats in total - all riders get 3 rides, potential maximum of 11 races if someone gets through all stages - which is maybe a bit much, but highly unlikely and they'd deserve it if they managed it. The beauty of the 16 rider format is everyone meets everyone and it is undoubtedly the best option and gets a decent amount of riders but just think they could have thought differently - although whatever they came up with would probably have been ridiculed. Really hope however they slice it, Cookie gets a chance to mix it with the big boys - and Roynon has put himself in the picture too (assuming Auty and Lawson will qualify however its calculated). Backless
And the admission cost for 28 heats with 24 riders turning out??? The meeting would have a smaller crowd than a Scunthorpe National League match!

SCB
Why not just seed the top 6-8 guys and then let the next 16 riders race at Rye House on Tuesday for the other 8-10 places?

teddy2706
In a season that isn't blighted by rain there appeared to be time for all sorts of challenges and meaningless matches. It is a great pity that the British Championship is dependant on seeding, it could be one of the best and most competitive competitions to watch. In reality it is as important as the F.A. Cup competition and could have an inter league team equivalent too. Stoke v Poole, now that really might get some more faces on Mr. Tattum's terrace! He would only drive them away, as he has all the other speedway fans in the area.

Skodaman
Surely it would be on EL averages first, so the line-up will be: Tai Woffinden Chris Harris Edward Kennett Scott Nicholls Lewis Bridger Danny King Ben Barker Oliver Allen Simon Stead David Howe Ricky Ashworth Robert Mear Stuart Robson Josh Auty Craig Cook Adam Roynon Surely, those with only a PL average would have their average adjusted by .6 to bring them in line with the EL riders.
