Brummie Kev
Apparently Jason Bunyan has withdrawn as he feels it inappropriate for him to ride given that he has so firmly nailed his colours to the New Zealand mast, and that he should stand aside to give a young Brit (presumably Worrall or Newman) a chance If thats true, I take my hat off to Jason . Good to see someone is thinking of giving the Young Brits a chance.
Gavan
Correct by all means have the top 8 brits seeded to this and then hold qualifiers its not rocket science. Richie Worrall should be in this meeting ahead of a lot of the other riders thats for sure. But if we had qualifiers and he didnt make it then so be it, and no he shouldnt be at Cardiff!

screm
As Jon Cook pointed out in this weeks Speedway Star theres normally a high drop-out rate for these kinds of meetings,so its very likely that Ritchie Worrall will get a place in one of the semi-finals and deservedly so.
Fozzie4388
Richie Worrall is indeed in place of Bunyan, according to the Rye House Press Release under the Premier League section on BSPA site.
Gavan
Glad to hear Worrall is in - he should be as he deserves it if there are no qualifiers. Personally with 32 rider semi finals you could easily seed the top 16 riders have the next 32 do two qualifiers and then so be it. I remember years ago there were quarters and semis before the british final but that was when the british final meant something. I remember being at Ipswich and Mark Loram tried to ride in the semis with a broken collerbone and couldnt turn the bike. He was out the british final that year. FrankThePug
BSPA said they've tried every possibility to make sure riders aren't taken away from teams for league matches but indie some snooping and found this out. For the Sheffield semi final on the Thursday there are 2 Elite League matches thy are Birmingham vs Coventry & Swindon vs Lakeside, all of Danny King, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris and Eddie Kennett have been out in the other semi final but Ben Barker, Ricky Ashworth and Simon Stead are all riding in the Sheffield semi, can someone please explain how this was worked out and why they seem to have taken riders away from teams who are in genuine playoff contention

T.N.T.
SHEFFIELD (July 5): Tai Woffinden, Lewis Bridger, Ben Barker, Olly Allen, Simon Stead, Ricky Ashworth, Richard Lawson, Lee Complin, Andrew Tully, Richard Hall, James Wright, Chris Schramm, Derek Sneddon, Adam Roynon, Carl Wilkinson, Kyle Howarth. RYE HOUSE (July 7): Edward Kennett, Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls, Danny King, Stuart Robson, David Howe, Robert Mear, Josh Auty, Craig Cook, Leigh Lanham, Jordan Frampton, Chris Mills, Simon Lambert, Ritchie Hawkins, Luke Bowen, Jason Bunyan Richie Worrall Reserves: Kyle Newman, Is it 7 go through from each semi and then two Wild Card nominations ? If it is 7 each, then those are the 7 I think will get through although Lee Complin and Andrew Tully could be in with an outside chance at Owlerton ...... Craig Cook, Richie Worrall and Robert Mear at Rye House. Can see at least 1 Wild Card being the rider who finishes 8th at Rye Edited June 28, 2012 by T.N.T. Hel'n'Back
Watching the moves Complin made at Sheffield the other week were simply breathtaking. If he turns up in the same form then he'll beat Roynan quite comfortably!

Ben Barker and Ricky Ashworth both share a position in the Brummies side and some may ask why they are both in the same semi, when the Brummies have a fixture on the same night. The problem is on the Saturday it's Berwick v Plymouth, so both Ben and Ricky need to ride in the Thursday meeting. Its messes us up a bit, Rider replacment for Ashworth will make us weak. Smolinski's July average puts him ahead of Ashworth, so its only him, Auty X2 and Piszcz that can take a ride.
Cue Ball
Apparently Richie Worrall has bust his leg at workington tonight. If correct, you have to feel for him given how his season was going.
Rteyp
Weather forecast is grim 70% chance of rain at Rye on Sat. What happens if its a rain-off ? My glass is half-full normally but Speedway weather this year is poo - so curious as to what the plans might be...
