Wackie
Thanks for trying to highlight the truth Dexter. The fact your article has been removed leads me to believe there's things the Rzeszow club are trying to hide! The way Lee's memory has been dishonoured and his family treated by his Polish cluband some of it's supporters is beyond belief, not just with the fall out after the memorial meeting, but the lack of communicaiton and compassion shown in the days/weeks after Lee's death. With regards to the funds generated by the memorial meeting, instead of causing Lee's family further distress why don't they just clear the whole matter up and publish the official attendance figures for the meeting along with all income generated and any expenditure occured. Although I can't imagine the expenditure would be a great deal - tax maybe, but surely there were no stadium, official or staff charges? It's not just Lee's family and the genuine fans who seemingly have been cheated, what about the riders who gave their services for free? I can't imagine they'd be too happy if the Rzeszow club have made any financial gain from the meeting. Daniel Smith
Below I also posted on the Polish 2013 Confirmed Riders thread __________________________________________________________________________ All none Polish riders and those that ride in Lee Richardson's memorial meeting should refuse to ride for Rzeszow until the Richardson family receive what they are owed. That club and some of their so called fans are an absolute disgrace. No heart, no integrity, no guilt Shame on you Twitter should trend / message riders #BoycottRzeszowForRico
Dexter
Wackie - the text has been removed because of discrepancies in reports on numbers of spectators attending the meeting. Nowiny (local Rzeszow newspaper) reported 5,000 and Sportowe Fakty reported 6,500. Tickets cost 25 zlote per person. Marta Poltorak said in Nowiny that the actual profit was around 70,000 zlote. The article also confirms that riders attended the meeting for free but also that meeting costs were covered by Rzeszow. Also, donation tax was covered by Rzeszow (believe it or not but in Poland you need to pay tax when you receive a donation). Full article below http://www.nowiny24....ZEL01/121039992 Basically, since number of spectators is not known, Sportowe Fakty owner told me he did not want to leave the article on as the whole analysis could have been wrong due to false assumption that either 5,000 or 6,500 was the correct number. I actually do understand him - his portal could be seen as unreliable if none of these were correct. Also, I don't think that Rzeszow and Marta were involved in removing the text. However, since riders were not paid and meeting costs and donation tax were covered by Rzeszow, I don't think there should have been any deductions off the actual gross income from ticket. Also, I would imagine that Rzeszow could have claimed that donation or part of it somehow off their tax and hence there would be no tax involved... I may be wrong though as I have lived in Australia for 9 years and I am much more familiar with the local laws rather than Polish. Nevertheless, I don't like what I see. Both Rzeszow actions (delays, lack of contact with Emma, large discrepancy between profit reported by Marta Poltorak and what Emma received) and some boorish comments from some Polish fans on Emma's Twitter and Facebook pages (like "Don't be greedy" or "You should be happy that you received something at all") as well as on discussion forums. Very sad and definitely undeserved by Lee's family. Edited November 13, 2012 by Dexter
Wackie
Cheers Dexter, can understand Sportowe Fakty not wanting to publish figures if they're unconfirmed. I think we all agree this matter could easily be cleared up if Rzeszow simply publish the details regarding income/expenditure for the meeting instead of issuing statements intent on damaging Emma Richardson's reputation, and causing the provocation which have led fans to write such vile things to her. The longer they refuse to publically issue this information, the more and more people will think they are hiding something or trying to rip off what was honestly donated to Lee's family by fans, sponsors & riders who contributed to the meeting. The whole situation stinks.
Dexter
Knowing the way they do things around there - I am pretty sure they will never publish anything. With assumption of 5,000 spectators goss profit from tickets would be around 125,000 zlote and with 6,500 spectators - 162,500. That is assuming that everyone paid for their ticket. Marta speaks about 70,000 net profit. The difference is significant. I don't think that most of Polish clubs have ability to count exactly how many spectators attend meetings. It would be a very manual process to determine. The matter would not exist now if Rzeszow had paid Emma immediately after the meeting. Emma would have received money and nobody would even know about the whole thing and there would be no discrepancy analysis. Only they know why it took 2 months. Are you suggesting that this has now been resolved Dexter. I do hope so, this was a situation that should never have arisen and leaves a very bad taste in respect of Rzeszow Speedway.....? Dexter
I am suggesting Emma will never get all money that she is entitled to... On the other hand, there is really no way to prove this since Rzeszow does not share any official info on this.
